As you can see, that’s a whole lot of #1’s over the past two years. Phil Heath is called The Gift for good reason. He’s called a champion for an even better one. Say what you will about Kai Greene and whether or not he should take down Heath – in the end Phil has the numbers to back his words.

In his early life, Phil Heath was a basketball player – playing as a shooting guard for Denver’s Division I basketball team. If you look at any pictures of him from that time and made the claim, “That guy is going to be one of the biggest modern bodybuilders when he gets older.” People would have probably laughed at you. But look at him now – a perfect symmetrical physique and massive size is hard to be matched.

But Phil Heath is more than simply a champion. He is turning himself into a brand. Following in the footsteps of Gaspari, Phil Heath recently announced his own supplement company – Gifted Nutrition. He has also maintained his own small apparel company called Gifted Athletics. In short, Phil Heath is here to stay – currently as a champion and then later as a voice and icon in the bodybuilding community.

Will He Take the Sandow?

Survey says – yes. But as with every year, the competitors are hungry. Kai Greene is always ready to jump up to that top spot on the totem pole – and you never know when a wild card can come in and swoop a surprisingly high ranking.

Of course it is always a safe bet to place on Phil Heath – but nothing is ever 100%.
