A hybrid athlete can have the best of multiple worlds.
Most casual lifters don’t know the difference between bodybuilding and powerlifting. As most of you are bodybuilding aficionados, your responses are likely to include idiot, noob, or some other variation of letting these people know that they are grossly uninformed. While that may be pretty close to the truth you have to consider the fact that there are many bodybuilders who look more like powerlifters and powerlifters that look like they belong a posing stage. Powerlifter Dan Green is a great example of this.

Dan Green is a well respected powerlifter who is always looking to constantly improve. While he may not be a bodybuilder by any stretch of the imagination, Dan Green has proven to have one of the most superior physiques out there, particularly for a powerlifter. There are so many powerlifters out there that have less than stellar physiques yet possess inhuman strength. Dan Green is built like an athlete and is as strong as an ox.
But let’s take a minute to consider a few things about judging a book by it’s cover. While many people see the argument as cut and dry, powerlifters are solid but have no definition, bodybuilders are cut and have no strength to back it up, let’s consider the fact that it’s possible to be both. Dan Green possesses a great physique as well as great strength, yet his foundation lies neither in bodybuilder nor in powerlifting. Before he started lifting barbells off the ground he was gymnast with some pretty good skills. Check out the video below of the hybrid athlete performing some pretty awesome handstand push ups as a finisher.
