Have you ever had a bad spotting experience?
Only fools say that they don’t need a spotter. It’s just smart to have someone watching your back especially if you are trying to lift until failure. Weight training is inherently dangerous. You’re lifting heavy weight over your head, chest, legs, knees, etc. Even with so many safeties in place and machines… a human spotter is always a big help.
