Wheelchair Bound Man Crushes Pullups With Chair Still Attached

No excuses

What’s your excuse for not going to the gym? You’re tired, you don’t have enough powder to make a shake, you’d rather binge on Netflix, you’re in a wheelchair? Apparently, none of those excuses are valid anymore. Tyrone “Upper Body Boy” Shoemake is in a wheelchair and he can still do more pullups than you.

The philadelphia native was shot in the back during a small time drug deal at the tender age of 17. The incident damaged his spinal cord leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. After spending several years in prison, Shoemake new that he had to make a change in his life. He started counselling other wheelchair bound inmates in prison and when he got out he continued inspiring people through his Facebook page. He says the fitness part of his new life started a year out of prison when some of his friends claimed he was “soft” and couldn’t hit the pullups the way he used to. Boy, were they wrong.
