After Potential Beef Starts to Brew, Michael Lockett Buries the Hatchet with Sergio Oliva Jr.

Michael Lockett and Sergio Oliva Jr. bury the hatchet.

Misunderstandings can perhaps be the most dangerous of occurrences that an individual has to face. When you consider the fact that so many relationships, personal and business alike, are destroyed just by a simple misunderstanding, it can perhaps be considered one of the more dangerous mistakes we as humans make.

After a major victory at the Chicago Pro, Michael Lockett has been on cloud nine as he punched his ticket for the Olympia. Despite that major victory however, Michael Lockett took offense to some comments made by Chicago Pro runner-up Sergio Oliva Jr. The problem is that it appears that the comments weren’t directed at Lockett. Despite that fact, the Chicago Pro winner didn’t have that particular information at the time and took offense to the words of Sergio Oliva Jr.

Michael Lockett took to social media to air out his frustration over the situation, but it appears that the move may have been premature. Both Michael Lockett and Sergio Oliva Jr had a chance to sit down and discuss the situation and the two came to an understanding that the perceived hate was a simple misunderstanding.

Now Michael Lockett has gone out of his way to apologize for his own actions.

I truly want to take this time to apologize to @sergioolivajr for disrespecting him on social media. It was unprofessional and immature for an adult, such as myself, to public humiliate someone who hasn’t said or done anything to me. I was totally out of character. We talked last night and the reason why I posted what I posted was because I thought that he was disrespecting me in a comment that was on his page but that wasn’t the case. It was a total misunderstanding and an apology was inevitable. I am not ashamed to admit to someone or everyone my faults or mistakes. If I had the audacity to disrespect someome on social media for a misunderstanding, I do have the courage to apologize to that person. It’s not about being soft. It’s about being an adult! Listen, it’s every professional bodybuilders job to remain professional at any and all times; not only on stage, but off stage, too. Please have a good night everyone!

Despite the apology however, it appears that many fans are still trying to stir things up between Michael Lockett and Sergio Oliva Jr in the comments of this very same post. It just goes to show that once you’ve become a public figure the amount of hate and scrutiny that come your way sometimes just can’t be controlled.
