The definition in his physique is definitely something that has to be seen to be believed. After several turns at the Olympia title, Cedric is a practiced pro who appears to be hitting his stride in terms of muscle mass and definition. His traps are even bigger than they were on the Olympia stage and some commentators have observed that he has the best conditioning of his show career.

“Just trying to finish things off, finish this dehydration process and eating some carbohydrates,” Cedric narrates in the above Instagram video. His preparation for the show is admirable and his technique is on par with if not better than when he competed for Mr. Olympia. These signs point to a serious contender for the 2020 title.

McMillan finished 7th in the 2019 Olympia but has long been a competitor for the title. In the 2018, 2017, and 2016 competitions he placed 9th, 10th, and 7th, respectively. As a constant presence in the Olympia top ten, it remains to be seen if McMillan has what it takes to achieve a top 5 ranking, or even a first place finish. After Shawn Rhoden became the oldest competitor to win the Olympia title at age 43, it opened up new conversations about the longevity of a typical bodybuilder. The lines of what were once thought of unquestionable have been opened up, pushed, and moved around — at 42, it’s possible Cedric McMillan still has fight in him yet.
