Rest in Peace Matt Porter.
Bodybuilder and contest prep coach Matt Porter has passed away. News of his passing has spread throughout the bodybuilding community and it comes as a major shock.
In early May Matt Porter prepped competitors for the 2019 NPC Emerald Cup. Since then, Porter had reportedly not been feeling well and had consulted a number of doctors thinking he had pneumonia. The doctors had informed him that he was suffering from nothing more than a bad cold.
Rachel Prince Porter, Matt Porter’s wife, issued a statement on Facebook. In the statement she goes into detail about the days leading up to his death and scene when he passed away in front of her at their home.
The bodybuilding world has been rocked by this news and many have poured out support in the wake of Matt Porter’s passing.

As many of us know already Matt Porter passed away today. Everyone who knew Matt knew what a great guy he was. Always positive, always upbeat. Never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Just a good guy all the way around. He and his wife Rachel did not have life insurance because Matt had a pre-existing heart condition. There has been a go fund me set up to help with the funeral costs. The link is in my bio you can just click on it there. Rachel and Noah ( Matt’s son) have a rough time ahead and our prayers go out to both of them. Rest easy Matt. We will all see you soon enough. #mpasupps #mattporterapproved #mattporter
Matt Porter was 34 years old and is survived by his wife Rachel and his son Noah Porter.
