IFBB Pro League Releases New Rules For 2018 Olympia Qualification

Updated methods on qualifying for the biggest pro show in the world.

So the splitting of the IFBB ran by Rafael Santonja and the IFBB Pro League ran by Jim Manion has caused a major rift in the pro bodybuilding circuit. The ripple effects are starting to surge throughout the industry and it appears that more and more changes will be occurring in the coming months and years to come.

Already Santonja’s IFBB has implemented some game changing initiatives that could have a major effect on professional bodybuilding on the international stage. Now it appears that Jim Manion and the IFBB Pro League are making their own changes to proceedings. In an official press release from the IFBB Pro League, it appears that there will be new rules implemented in order to qualify for the Olympia.

The qualifications are based on the amount of competitions per category for the year. So if there are 25 competitions or less in a given category then they would have to adhere to the stipulations in the left column which essentially means that all competition winners and the top 3 in the point standings will qualify for the 2018 Olympia. If there are more than 25 competitions effecting a specific division then they will have to adhere to the rule set in the right column which means that the top 20 in the point standings will be considered for the Olympia.

As things stand there are likely to be many more changes on the way for the IFBB Pro League.
