Why Are You Using Steroids In The First Place Dumb Ass?

Why bother?

Okay, so that’s a pretty harsh way to start things off, but in reality it’s a question that many young bodybuilders fail to ask themselves. In a world where everything is so transparent, the revelation that classic bodybuilders were utilizing steroids to help the anabolic response to growing their muscle essentially pushed wannabe bodybuilders into believing it was the only way to get an amazing physique. While it may be true to some extent, if you aren’t planning on competing then why take the risk in the first place?

Competitive bodybuilders use steroids because they realize the competition is also utilizing the anabolic substance. Where making a living is concerned you can’t blame them for taking certain steps to ensure that they’re looking their best in hopes of winning shows and prize money. If it means going home and being able to pay your bills, then by all means.

The people who just use it for self gratification on the other hand make less sense in the overall picture.

Everyone is free to do as they please with their own bodies of course, but you have to wonder if they’re looking on steroids in the right way. For many they see the substance as a quick fix, something that can bring about great change with minimal effort. While the benefits of using the substance may be prevalent, the risks of taking the steroids out weigh the positives, especially if you have no idea what you’re doing.

Any bodybuilder worth their sand will tell you that while steroids may certainly have a positive effect on the body in terms of building mountains of muscle, the reality is that without hard ass work you’re likely not to see results anyhow.

So here’s an idea: why not bust your ass in the gym first for as long as possible while staying off of the gear and see where it leads you?

Sure, you won’t be seeing results every five minutes, but what you will be doing is dialing in the kind of mindset you need to obtain and maintain the positive results for years to come. You don’t just want a quick fix. Instead you should be aiming to make lifting a lifestyle as opposed to just making it a quick fix.

  • Steroids are not needed. Even the people who take them correctly, eat right, etc. are just wasting time and money. You shouldn't be eating more than 2,000 calories a day. You don't need all that mass it just makes you slow and harder for you to serve in the military. It's not healthy to carry all the extra weight even if it is muscle. There are plenty of ways to beat plateaus besides using steroids and increasing calories.
