With Proportions On Par With Phil Heath, Regan Grimes Is Proving He’s The Future

Vancouver Pro showcased a top veteran and new blood.

It’s easy for people in bodybuilding to completely discredit new talent entering into the sport. For one, they have no idea what it’s like to share the stage with the best of the best and hope for a major victory. The preparation at the professional levels of the sport is a whole other ball game than the amateurs. Yet despite that it appears Regan Grimes is acquitting himself well on the pro stage. After taking second to Michael Lockett a few things became certain: Regan Grimes has a bright future ahead of him.

The young Regan Grimes, he’s only competed in two pro shows and he’s already being compared to competitors like Michael Lockett. His proportions and musculature is very reminiscent of the Olympia champ Phil Heath. While it’s too early in his career to tell if he’ll be an Olympia champion, it’s certainly fair to say that he has a bright future and cracking the top five at the Olympia is something that will surely become a reality.

That’s a ton of praise to heap on a young man so early into his career, but when you consider that Phil Heath was once a prospect, the idea of Regan Grimes becoming a world beater isn’t all that insane. Everyone will have their own opinions as to whether or not the young talent will go far. But the evidence so far all points in the same direction. Regan Grimes has what it takes to be a dominant champion.

    • Never heard of this guy. Googled and not that young. Looks older than he is but Dallas Mccarver is massive next to him and same age. Good physique but will never make Olympia heavyweight class

    • I would hardly call 24 old. Dallas and him wouldn't even compete in the same class. Regan competes at 210 which means if anything he will do the 212 division.

    • lol Regan competed at 250 at Tampa Pro ! If you never heard about him it's because you don't follow bodybuilding. Rookie year = 5th at Chicago Pro, Second at Vancouver Pro and 6th at Tampo Pro lol

    • Yeah and he finished 6th at the pro and looked pretty smooth. I think he looks better competing at a lower weight. But I've watched him change and progress and i think he is destined for greatness

    • Yes at Tampo he looked smooth and soft but go see the pic of him a 245 at the Vancouver Pro ! Hard and peeled ! Very fucking sick lines and insane genetic. Great great futur ahead for sure !

    • I will have to check those pics out. I saw him heading in to that one but didn't actually see pics from the day of.

    • I think he tried to come a bit bigger at the Tampo cuz Josh was there, but he should take time and add a 20lbs stage weight and he'll be fucking good ! Can't wait !

    • Dallas is a 91 and grimes was born in 1993. He'll never compete in 212 .. lol he's 6 foot tall.. those short guys would have way too much mass on their short frame.. they're like 5'5 in 212. He just need to pack on mass for a few years and make it to the open.

    • David Bernard i don't pay attention to Instagram celebs. As far as I'm concerned he hasn't won an Olympia so who cares.
I focus more on my own goals than others however it's obvious he can never win an Olympia or come close

    • I don't have time to pay attention to them. None of them inspire me for anything and they all tend to be boring people.
There are exceptions but for the most part they are much alike

  • I believe the future is guys like Big Ramy,Dallas Mcarver,Sergio Olivia Jr, that is just a few Reagan is good but if he wants to be competing with the big boys he needs a lot more size and thickness.

    • If Dallas doesn't die on stage holding a pose too long. He can't even make a Snapchat without being out of breath.

    • I hear you brother that is all the drugs combined with his weight most of these guys unfortunately won't make it to 60 plus in age.

  • Looks like that thing from beetlejuice with that tiny head lmao seriously though I follow him on YouTube he is a monster and will be household name soon. Well households that like this sport.

  • Regan grimes is overrated, average looking bodybuilder who looks soft on stage, he is not the future of anything there are tons of better bodybuilders out there, he only has a bit of hype because he has a decent social media following, but popularity doesn't win bodybuilding shows.

  • Give him 2-4 years and he'll be smoking every single competitor that he faces. He just went pro this year and placed in the top 5 in all his shows as a rookie pro.

  • Evan Godbee he just came 6th at the Tampa Pro but does he suddenly rival the guys on the Olympia stage lmao?
