The 2024 Wasatch Warrior Pro took place on Saturday in Salt Lake City, UT. There were three divisions on display with winners earning a spot in the 2024 Olympia.

Jason Huynh was victorious in Men’s Physique during the show. This will be his fifth consecutive appearance at the Olympia. Aimee Leann Delgado will also be making her return to the biggest stage in the sport after winning Bikini. Megan Sylvester-Cielen won her second Figure show of the year. She was also victorious during the Tri-City Pro earlier in the year.

The 2024 Vancouver Island Showdown Pro took place on Saturday in Victoria, BC, Canada. Three Women’s divisions in bodybuilding were on display with winners earning a spot in the 2024 Olympia.

Julia Whitesel headlined the competition with a victory in Women’s Bodybuilding. She finished second at this show last year before winning the Toronto Pro Supershow to qualify for the 2024 Olympia, where she finished in the Top 10.

Both Marianne Von Gierke (Women’s Physique) and Emily Azzarello (Wellness) will be making their debuts at the Olympia after being victorious in their respective divisions.

Lee Priest believes there is a place for partial reps but not to just add more weight.

Bodybuilding veteran Lee Priest has been vocal recently about tips in the gym. He was able to build an incredible physique during his career and is now sharing his wisdom with the next generation. During a recent video, Priest spoke on partial reps and how they should be used.

Priest enjoyed a career on stage that spanned into three decades. He has had the chance to compete against legendary bodybuilders like Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, and Chris Cormier. Before calling it a career in 2013, Priest won the NABBA Mr. Universe competition. Priest quickly became known for his incredible conditioning and massive biceps.

The phenomenon of partial reps has been growing in gyms recently. While some believe that they should not be used all together, Priest shared his opinions on the right time.

“Partial reps are fine if you’re doing them because a lot of people do them. Sometimes to add strength like if you aren’t used to a weight, you might just say, if you’re bench pressing 300, I know people that might go 350 but only lift it off, get a spot, and then they come down halfway.”

Partial reps are used in certain workouts to help build muscle. Priest believes that they should not be part of ego-lifting.

Lee Priest Warns Against Partial Reps

If weight is being added, lifters must make sure that they can still perform the desired lift with the correct form and purpose. If it is being added just for ego, this is where partial reps can hurt.

“Now, it’s not good if you’re just doing partials for ego-lifting. I see a lot of that and that’s where people make the mistake where they try to go too heavy. On leg press, you see it. On squatting, you see it and on benching you see it. As long as you can get as close to the exercise as possible and as long as you feel it, then that’s good.”

In his newsletter, Arnold Schwarzenegger has urged weightlifters to stop with partials and perform full reps. He discussed many benefits of full reps. Aside from muscle-building, resistance training with a full range of motion also helps improve flexibility and mobility. It is also the best way to build strength and muscle.

At the end of the day, it is important for gym goers to do what works best for them. Lee Priest continued to discuss different programs and how they work for different people.

“You’ve got to find programs and exercises that you feel. Yes, use the basic exercise as a guide but then you do it to the best of your ability. You can use things when it comes to dieting and training programs as a guide but then you’ll have to work out what’s best for you.”

Edvan Palmeira wins the 2024 Nordeste Pro!

The 2024 Nordeste Pro took place on Saturday in Recife, Brazil with the Classic Physique division being put on display. Edvan Palmeira impressed and was crowned champion, punching his ticket to the 2024 Olympia.

Palmeira will make his third consecutive appearance at the Olympia. Last year, Palmeira was victorious during the Mexico Grand Battle Pro. In 2022, he won the Musclecontest Brazil Pro. Each year, he was featured in the biggest stage in the sport.

Jeremiah Willies wins the 2024 Fitworld Pro!

The 2024 Fitworld Pro took place on Saturday in Los Angeles with the Classic Physique division being put on display. Jeremiah Willies was victorious in the end and punched his ticket to the 2024 Olympia.

Willies earned his Pro Card in 2022 and will now make his first appearance in the Olympia. Last year, Willies competed in three shows with his highest finish being second during the 2023 Mid USA Pro.

Here are the full results from the 2024 Tri-City Classic!

The 2024 Tri-City Classic took place over the weekend in Columbus, GA. There were three divisions that took the stage looking to punch tickets to the 2024 Olympia. In the end, Tomas Adame headlined the show with a victory in Classic Physique.

Adame competed at the 2024 Charlotte Cup Pro earlier this year and finished fourth. On Saturday, he earned his first victory and will make his debut in the Olympia. Mcspadden was victorious in Men’s Physique and will make his return to the Olympia. This will be his fifth appearance on the biggest stage and first since 2022.

Megan Sylvester-Cielen has a history on stage, including the 2022 Arnold Classic UK. This year, she competed during the Charlotte Cup Pro and returned in Columbus this weekend. She was victorious in Figure and will take the stage at the Olympia.

Martin Fitzwater wins the 2024 Detroit Pro!

The 2024 Detroit Pro took place on Sunday in Dearborn, MI with the Men’s Open division on full display. The winner would earn a spot in the upcoming 2024 Olympia and in the end, it was Martin Fitzwater who took home the title.

The 24-year-old Fitzwater will now take the Olympia stage for the first time this year. He earned his Pro Card in 2020 after three years of competing. Fitzwater immediately impress with size and conditioning. He finished second to Andrew Jacked during the 2022 Texas Pro before going up against him at the Arnold Classic UK the same year. Now, Fitzwater will get a chance to measure himself against the best in the world.

Fitzwater defeated Vitalii Ugolnikov, known as Good Vito, who finished as the runner-up. Good Vito has been one of the biggest up-and-comers in bodybuilding and has arrived here in 2024.

Sara Choi wins the 2024 Taiwan Pro!

The 2024 Taiwan Pro is a Bikini show that took place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on April 4th. In the end, it was Sara Choi who was victorious and punched her ticket to the 2024 Olympia.

Choi will return to the Olympia for the first time since 2021. It will be her third trip overall. In 2021, Choi won the Asia Grand Prize Pro to punch her ticket. Now, she will return to compete against the best in the world at the Bikini Olympia.

Here are the full results from the Triple O Dynasty Pro!

The Triple O Dynasty Pro took place on Saturday, April 6th in Mesa, AZ. A total of three Women’s divisions in bodybuilding took the stage with hopes of qualifying for the 2024 Olympia.

Theresa Ivancik will return to the 2024 Olympia for the first time since her seventh-place finish in 2022. This is the year she won the Indy Pro to qualify. In 2023, Ivancik finished in the top three twice during the Tampa Pro and Toronto Pro Supershow.

Ann Gruber was victorious in Women’s Physique while Wendy Fortino won Figure. For Fortino, this will be her eighth appearance on the biggest stage in the sport of bodybuilding.

Here are the full results from the 2024 1 Bro Pro Show!

The 2024 1 Bro Pro Show took place on Saturday, April 6th in London, United Kingdom. The Classic Physique and Bikini divisions were on display with competitors looking to punch their tickets to the 2024 Olympia. In the end, it was Emanuele Ricotti and Ottavia Mazza reigning supreme.

Ricotti will make his return to the Olympia stage for the first time since 2022. Last year, he finished third at the Poland Pro but did not qualify. In 2022, Ricotti was victorious during the Puerto Rico Pro and finished as the runner-up during the Sheru Classic Italian Pro.

Mazza has appeared in the Olympia in a loaded Bikini division in each of the last two years. Last season, she qualified with a victory during the Sheru Classic UK Pro. This was one of three competitions where she finished in the top five.
