Julius Maddox looks impressive after making a full recovery from his rotator cuff injury.

Fully recovered from his 2022 rotator cuff injury, Julius Maddox is back in the gym and recently performed an impressive 405 lb overhead press. The powerlifter is still growing in strength as he continues his journey to bench pressing 800 lbs.

Dealing with a serious injury can be a hassle for just about anyone. When you’re a professional athlete however it can be downright unbearable. Athletes need to use their bodies in order to generate their income. So a severe injury can hurt their earning potential. So when respected powerlifter, Julius Maddox injured his rotator cuff last year, it was a foregone conclusion that he’d be stuck on the sidelines for quite some time.

Known for his impressive strength in the bench press, Julius Maddox seeks to become one of the all-time greats at the legendary lift. While he already holds the world record in the raw bench press, a whopping 782.6 lbs, Maddox is not satisfied with his prior achievement. While setting the world record may have been his initial goal, his new goal is to outdo himself and benchpress 800 lbs.

It’s been a long road for Julius. Maddox in his attempt to surpass his own world record bench press. While he may have had attempts in the past, he has been unsuccessful in crossing his 800 lbs goal. Along the journey to accomplishing this new goal, Maddox would end up suffering, a rotator cuff injury. Back in July 2022, Maddox would injure himself so severely that attempting an 800 lbs bench press was simply out of the question.

Now nearly a year later, Julius Maddox has a fully healed rotator cuff and is intent on continuing the marathon toward 800. In a recent post to Instagram, Maddox showcase that his strength is returning with an impressive seated overhead press of 405 lbs.

405 ❌ 2 Seated OHP

I’m back. My rotator cuff feels back to 100%! Been a long humbling experience. 9 months ago minor tears to my bicep and 3 bands in my rotator cuff. Didn’t share much about it because I honestly did think I’d return. Well here I am still on the road to 800

THE MARATHON CONTINUES!

It’s great to see that Julius Maddox is back to his old tricks. Hopefully, he’s able to improve enough to build the strength to bench press 800 Lbs.

Julius Maddox continues to inch closer to his mark of 800 pounds on the bench.

Julius Maddox might hold the all-time bench press world record but he has made it clear that he is aiming for bigger goals. Maddox has been creeping toward an 800-pound bench press and took big steps in a recent training session. Maddox was able to complete a huge 796-pound raw bench press recently.

Maddox set the all-time mark of 782 pounds in February 2021 during the World Raw Powerlifting Federation Hybrid Showdown III. From this moment on, he set his sights on being the first man to bench press 800 pounds raw. On Tuesday, Maddox shared a video on Instagram to show off some recent progress.

“I’ve missed this weight +10 times. Hearing my little girls ask me when I will hit 800lbs is enough for me to lay it all on the line. This is bigger tan a title for me. It’s about the long lasting impact I leave for my kids and family. The times they fall on hard times and need some motivation! God gave me this gift to show the world his power that can take a ol junkie like me and do great wonders! 800+ soon!”

This is clearly not the first time that Julius Maddox has hit some massive bench press accomplishments. In April, Maddox took on 700 pounds and was able to complete four reps. Now, Maddox is battling with Danial Zamani to see who will be the first to reach 800 pounds.

Julius Maddox vs. Danial Zamani

Julius Maddox might hold the all-time bench press world record but this does not seem to be the goal recently. Both Maddox and Danial Zamani have had their sights set on 800 pounds and it will be interesting to see who will reach it officially.

Zamani completed an 804.7-pound bench press in training, becoming the first man to reach this mark and accomplishing the “dream goal.”

This might have added a little more motivation for Maddox. He has attempted 800 pounds on two separate occasions but has been unable to complete the lift. Maddox is continuing to train all body parts in order to strengthen his bench press. This includes a recent 820-pound squat.

Now just four pounds away, Julius Maddox will be pushing hard for 800 pounds. There could be another attempt coming soon but nothing has been announced to this point.

Julius Maddox is known as the king of bench press but has plenty of strength to go around.

Julius Maddox has taken over bench press in recent years. He currently holds the all-time world record in the lift and has been working to get that number even higher. This does not mean that Maddox neglects other lifts, quite the opposite actually. On social media, Maddox has stressed the importance of other lifts that can help strengthen body parts to help on the bench. This time, Maddox took to the squat rack to set a new PR with an 820-pound lift.

Maddox shared the massive PR on Instagram. He approached the Kabuki Strength transformer bar loaded up with 820 pounds. With a classic in “Soul Survivor” by Young Jeezy and Akon coming out of the speakers, Maddox made the lift look easy and even said the same at the end of the video.

This was the second lift as Maddox completed a 775-pound lift prior. Because of the speed that this lift went up, Maddox decided to throw some more weight on. He did not use any equipment or gear to aid in this lift making it raw.

“Huge PR 775lb/ 820lb x 1 with
@kabukistrength Transformer Bar.. Followed up with 820 which was sloppy but was a pR”

Julius Maddox has not participated in events other than bench press since his competition career began. He has competed in 17 sanctioned competitions, all on the bench. In fact, Maddox does not even share a lot of content in other lifts on social media. Interestingly enough, this squat video shows that Maddox could have a shot at totaling one of the heaviest weights in powerlifting if he competed in all three lifts.

Maddox has been on the chase for 800 pounds on bench press. He currently holds the record of 355kg (782.6lb) and is looking to become the first person to lift 800 pounds officially. As of now, Danial Zamani has accomplished that feat but it came in a training session making it unofficial.

Julius Maddox has attempted this lift before but has yet to do it successfully. It is clear that he is training to reach the number and could plan on it soon. Maddox might not compete in competition but he can setup a chance to reach the 800-pound mark separately. At 34 years old, it is unknown if Maddox would venture out from bench press in a sanctioned event but it would be fascinating to see the total number he could reach.

Julius Maddox has had his eye on 800 pounds for quite some time and seems to be making progress.

It is only a matter of time for Julius Maddox.

A matter of time for what exactly? The powerlifter has had his sight set on being the first person to ever complete an 800-pound raw bench press. After taking some time off from training, Maddox loaded up 735 pounds on the bar and made it look easy.

Maddox laid on the bench with nothing to aid him but wrist wraps. After a lift from his spotter, Maddox took care of the rest. There was a slight pause at the bottom of the lift before Maddox drove it up to the sky. If it looked effortless, it’s because it might have been and he expressed that in his caption on Instagram.

“It’s only a matter of time.. This prep has had a lot of ups and downs. First time I’ve touched over 700 in almost 5 months. When I say this 735 felt like a empty bar is an understatement, It scared me when it come off my chest. Glory to GOD!”

Julius Maddox still holds the raw bench press world record of 782.6lbs from his lift at the Hybrid Showdown III back in February of 2021. Danial Zamani has been on his heels and looks determined to take over the world record.

Zamani recently completed an 804.7lb lift in training. While it does not count as an official world record, Zamani completed the lift with relative ease and it shows that he is determined to take over the title. The 800-pound mark has been a level that both lifters have been working to achieve. It is something that Maddox has failed in the past and it determined to make it official.

Julius Maddox attempted 800 pounds in 2020 but the bar was miscoded and caused an unsuccessful attempt. In August, Maddox prepared for his second attempt at the historic lift after a Chicago Cubs’ game at Wrigley Field. This was another unsuccessful attempt that has given Maddox some motivation.

As if he needed anymore, Maddox has the lift from Zamani to watch and use as a push. If this recent training video is any indication of the work that Julius Maddox has been putting in, he could reach the elusive 800-pound milestone in no time.

Did Danial Zamani break the bench press world record?

Danial Zamani may have just broke the raw bench press world record. The Iranian strongman and powerlifting is taking the strength game by storm. His strength is truly incredible to say the least and his latest feat may have just made him the new bench press king. Or has it?

The current bench press kingpin Julius Maddox currently holds the official raw bench press world record. The current official record stands at 782lbs (355kg), a truly impressive number indeed. But it appears that Danial Zamani may have just eclipsed that number…in training.

Unofficial World Record?

In a recent training session Danial Zamani crushed the raw bench press. The Iranian powerhouse put up some insane numbers in the gym. Zamani pushed 360kg or 793lbs in training.

Here we go.. 360 kg bench press Heaviest bench press ever in History 🔥🔥🔥

I feel power of God in my veins. I could feel my coach Babak Ghazbani knowledge and all of your positive energy and Gods blessing when I was under the pressure of Bar loaded with heaviest weight ever on my arms.

I want to thank first of all my coach Babak Ghazbani @babak_ghazbani who is guiding me since last 10 years in my sport life, I owe him alot and all my seniors and pro athletes world-wide who support me and motivated me to reach my goal. My first target was 360 kg which is few kg more than current world record and my second target is breaking 800 lbs mark which I am going to attempt in 20 days. I can not promise to break 800 lbs record for now due to having pain in my shoulder but I try my best and will attempt it definitely. Either i break the 800 lbs number or not, I am going to post the video for all my fans.

I am Danial Zamani , memeber of powerlifting family specialized in bench press and I am thankful to each and everyone of you who helped me with positive energy to achieve my biggest goal in life.

Will It Count?

This is definitely an incredible feat of strength. The issue however is that the bench press wasn’t conducted during a meet. Julius Maddox was able to break the world record in an official meet. Danial Zamani pulled off the feat during a training session. That said the numbers don’t lie. Zamani lifted more than the official record by 11lbs. That’s a fact that can’t be denied.

What do you think of Danial Zamani breaking the bench press world record unofficially?

Julius Maddox reps out 635lbs and makes it look easy.

Bench press king Julius Maddox just recently showed why he had the title pressing 635lbs for reps in his recent training. Maddox is on the hunt to conquer the 800lb bench press and this kind of training is preparing him nicely for the task.

There just some human beings that simply defy logic. These are the kind of people that can achieve such Herculean levels of strength that it leaves you scratching you head. These people have far surpassed what it means to be human. Powerlifting champion and bench press king Julius Maddox is one such individual.

Currently holding the world record bench press at an astonishing 782lbs (354kg), Julius Maddox is the king of benching. While there are some solid competitors hoping to challenge his reign, Maddox is holding on strong to the title. His current goal of benching 800lbs is still in reach. Unfortunately Maddox was unable to achieve the goal in his last attempt.

With that said, Julius Maddox isn’t giving up on 800lbs. He’s dusted himself off and returned to the lab in hopes of eventually conquering the massive task. In order for him to accomplish the feat he’ll have to be consistently in the gym.

Going for max lifts can certainly be effective, but building endurance is also a necessity. As such Julius Maddox is repping out a massive amount of weight during certain session. In a recent session Maddox benched 635Lbs for reps and made it look easy.

Julius Maddox attempted to break his own record on Saturday night but came up short.

On Saturday night, Julius Maddox was looking to set a new mark for the heaviest bench press of all-time. He currently holds the world record of 782.6 pounds and has had his sights set on 800 pounds recently. Wrigley Field was the venue of what had a chance to be a special event.

Following a game between the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals, Maddox wanted to become the first person ever to bench 800 pounds. He ended with two failed attempts and the world record lives another day. This was not the first time that Maddox attempted this lift. In June 2020, Maddox attempted 800 pounds for the first time and ended up suffering a small injury because the bar was misloaded.

Below, you can find Maddox’s two attempts at the incredibly heavy lift.

Julius Maddox suffered a pec injury back in May and this delayed his progress a bit. He has been training with Larry Wheels to get his strength back to the necessary level to complete this lift. Last week, Maddox failed at a 790lb bench press but felt good enough on Saturday to give it a go.

This would not have been the first time that Maddox broke his own record. He originally took over the title in August 2019 with a 739.6-pound lift. He then crushed a 744.1lb bench press to set a new mark. Maddox would go onto beat his own record two more times. The first came in March 2020 at the Arnold Classic when he accomplished 770lbs. The most recent record came during the Hybrid Showdown in Miami where Maddox pressed the current mark of 782.6lbs.

Julius Maddox’s next attempt at 800lbs could come on another big stage. Earlier in the week, Maddox and Danial Zamani agreed to face off in a head-to-head bench press showdown at CT Fletcher’s Iron Wars V. This event will take place in January and will have plenty of eyes as two of the best bench pressers in the world square off.

This will be a must-see event. For the sake of comparisons, Zamani has pulled off a 777lb lift while training. This is five pounds less than the current world record held by Maddox.

There is no doubt that we will see another 800lb attempt from Maddox in the near future. At full strength and fun health, this is a lift that Maddox will accomplish and then from there, who knows? The sky is the limit.

This is not the first time that Maddox will attempt to break his own world record. He originally took over the title in August 2019 with a 739.6-pound lift. Maddox took the record from Kirill Sarychev and has been building on it ever since. In March 2020, Maddox raised the bar to 770 pounds and achieved the 782.6-pound lift in February.

Maddox will attempt to lift 800 pounds on Saturday night. He has attempted a massive 800-pound bench press in the past but has been unable to finish. Maddox has been in pursuit of this number and the next attempt could take place on Wrigley Field.

This news comes in the same week that we found out Maddox will go head-to-head against Danial Zamani in a bench-press showdown. This will take place at CT Fletcher’s Iron Wars V. The two powerhouses in the bench-press game will meet for what will be a memorable event. If Zamani wants to attempt to break Maddox’s record, he might have a new number to shoot for.

Maddox has been promoting this event on Saturday night on his Instagram page.

“One day out! Shout out to @obsidian_ammonia for the graphic.. Also the best smelling salts on the planet @obsidian_ammonia promo irregularstrength

Julius Maddox and Danial Zamani are preparing to go head-to-head in a bench press battle early next year.

When discussing the tp bench pressers in the world, there are two names that come to mind immediately — Julius Maddox and Danial Zamani. Who is the best? We might have an answer to that question very soon.

According to an Instagram post by CT Fletcher, there will be a showdown on the bench between Maddox and Zamani at Iron Wars V, a powerlifting competition created by Fletcher himself.

“THE STAGE IS SET!

FOR THE GREATEST BENCH BATTLE IN MODERN HISTORY!

I’VE RECEIVED VERBAL CONFIRMATION FROM BOTH JULIUS MADDOX @irregular_strength THE UNDISPUTED KING 👑 OF THE BENCH AND REINING WORLD RECORD HOLDER

AND THE IRANIAN 🇮🇷 SUPERMAN HIMSELF @danialzamani1 THE NO.1 CHALLENGER TO THE CROWN👑,” fletcher wrote on instagram.

Maddox currently holds the world record for a raw bench press at 782 pounds. He has an attempt at 800 pounds set up for the end of August. It will be interesting to see if Maddox can make the leap. If there is going to be anyone that has a chance to take the record from Maddox, it will be Zamani. This is something that Maddox has even acknowledged.

Danial Zamani has been putting up some enormous numbers while training. This includes a 766-pound bench press back in July. It is clear that the world record is on his mind and we could see an attempt soon.

Julius Maddox is not shy about commenting on Zamani’s posts on social media. The two are well aware of wha the other can do and this will make the head-to-head matchup even more exciting.

“Getting crazy out here 💪🏽💪🏽” Maddox commented after Zamani’s 766-pound bench.

“thanks brother ❤❤❤” Zamani responded.

“I’m super excited to be there to host and witness history,” Fletcher continued on Instagram. “We will livestream and tape this event, but ask anyone who has ever been to Iron Wars, there’s nothing like being there in person, so if you can, you don’t want to miss this opportunity, coming January 2022 to the Valley of the Beast!! Danial Zamani – Just did 777 in training. Julius Maddox – World Record 782.”

Friendly competition is good for the sport and that is what can be seen between these two elite lifters but there is no doubt that they both want to hold the world record. This event has a chance to be as exciting as it gets so like Fletcher said, you will not want to miss it.

Julius Maddox and Danial Zamani both hit some insane bench press numbers in recent training. Both powerlifters are on the hunt to hit 800lbs and cement themselves in history. Both have recently put up some insane numbers over 750Lbs (340kgs).

Julius Maddox has been hard at work chasing his dreams of hitting the 800lb bench press. While he may be the current world record holder in the raw bench press, Maddox isn’t content with lifting 782.6lbs, the current record. Maddox is motivated and wants to continue to achieve great things in his powerlifting career. Achieving the 800lb bench press would be just the feat to prove his incredible strength.

But Julius Maddox isn’t the only one who is looking for glory. There is another powerlifter looking to cement his name in history. That powerlifter is Iranian born Danial Zamani.

Recently Danial Zamani and Julius Maddox both put some insanely impressive numbers in their training in the gym. Neither man are showing signs of giving in and both are motivating the other to push themselves to the next level.

Maddox Hits New PR

Julius Maddox as always showed he’s an absolute beast in his recent training. In fact, Maddox put up 750Lbs for two reps, a personal record for the powerlifter.

🚨PR ALERT🚨 (340kg) 750lbs X 2

Lost traction on the second rep so I racked it for safety. I’m officially ready for 800..

Zamani’s Undeniable Strength

Danial Zamani recently put up an insane 766lb (347.5kg) bench press. He’s closing in on the world record and shows no sign of stopping.

🔥347.5 kg raw bench press🔥

As I promised the world and all strength fans I reached my target weight. This weight is dedicated to all my fans and my supporters. Thanks alot from all international pages that post my trainings and motivate me to push more.

It’s not over yet wait for storming start in close future 🔥

It’s clear that both Julius Maddox and Danial Zamani have what it takes to lift 800lbs. Who will hit the 800lb raw bench press first? That’s anyone’s guess.

What do you think of the strength of Julius Maddox and Danial Zamani?
