After Brutally Honest Critique of Boxing Skills, Eddie Hall Responds to Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan is not impressed with the boxing skills of Eddie Hall.

Hopping into a new sport later in life can be a risky endeavor. Hopping into a sport like boxing is even more of a risk for those unaccustomed to long term training. With his fight against Hafthor Bjornsson scheduled for later this year, Eddie Hall is hoping to attain enough boxing skills to defeat his long-time rival. But according to Joe Rogan, Hall’s abilities leave much to be desired.

In a recent podcast with Mat Fraser, Joe Rogan took time to watch training footage of Eddie Hall preparing for his bout with Hafthor Bjornsson. Rogan seemed less than impressed by what he saw.

“That’s not good,” said Rogan, critiquing Hall’s training. “Right away we’re seeing that we have a real problem. Yeah, this is terrible. He’s very rudimentary, but also you see that his body is very stiff.

“Looking at him sparring there, he’s just not moving so good… This is super stiff. He’s throwing these punches with his arms. These are arm punches, almost like he shouldn’t be hitting things.”

Some brutally honest criticism from a man who has been steeped in the martial arts for most of his life. Eddie Hall of course didn’t take the critique to heart, but he still had some words for Rogan’s assessment.

“I love Joe Rogan, I absolutely do love Joe Rogan,” said Hall in a recent Q and A video. “I watch a lot of his stuff… Look man, people can speculate, they can make assumptions, they can guess, they can do whatever they want, but I’m knocking Thor out. There’s no doubt in my mind.

“So, people can say whatever they want,” said Hall. “I take no offense to Joe Rogan’s comments. He’s an experienced guy, he knows what he’s talking about, but he doesn’t know the full picture. You look at a few clips, you can’t make assumptions from that.

“It doesn’t bother me in the slightest, it doesn’t put me off,” added Hall. “I hope it gives Thor more confidence because he needs it. He’s in deep trouble. And I’d still love to go on the Joe Rogan show and tell him a story for everyone to hear. Honestly, no offense taken by Joe Rogan and just move on and let (my hands) do the talking.”
