Brian Shaw Suffers Pec Injury During 575 Lbs Bench Press

Brian Shaw suffers pec injury.

There’s no denying that four-time World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw is an absolute powerhouse. When he’s not competing or prepping for strongman competitions, you can find Brian Shaw bending car doors in half to help civilians in need. The guy is a true hero and pretty admirable.

Maintaining his level of superhuman strength isn’t easy. Shaw has to train consistently in order to be competitive at strongman events.

The training of a strongman is on a completely different level than other strength athletes. Strongmen lift massive weight in unorthodox positions. But during prep, classic exercises like the bench press are still extremely beneficial.

However, during a routine bench press of 575 Lbs (that’s an insane amount of weight), Brian Shaw found himself injured.

In his latest YouTube video, Brian Shaw captures the incident on film. Here’s what he had to say about the injury.

“I don’t think it’s super bad but I what will say when you have things like this come up and your body is kind of telling you hey, something’s wrong, at that point you don’t want to push through the rest of the training.”

The damage to his pec proves to be an inconvenience for the champion strongman.

“That’s kind of something that’s a little disappointing I’m started to get some tightness now where I’m having a little bit of trouble opening that pec up.

“I can tell that I definitely strained something a little bit, unfortunately.”

But Brian Shaw does offer some good news by the end of the video.

“I don’t think it’s anything super major or that’s going to hopefully hold me back. With that just got to be smart get the treatment done work on the recovery and let the muscle heal up a little bit.”
