Jon Jones Arrested for DWI, Negligent Use of a Firearm

It looks as if Jon Jones has found himself in hot water once again.

Albuquerque Police responded to a criminal complaint just after 1 a.m. in reference to gunshots fired. The UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was found at the scene. Sitting in his vehicle, the engine on, Jon Jones told police he didn’t know about the shots fired.

Allegedly appearing intoxicated, Jones admitted to driving earlier and had intentions to operate the vehicle then and there. After consenting to a sobriety test, Jon Jones apparently performed poorly. The police also stated that when Jones was given a Breathalyzer he tested at least twice above the legal limit.

Upon further investigation the officers found a black handgun under the driver’s seat and an open container of alcohol behind the passenger seat.

Jon Jones was charged with aggravated DWI as well as negligent use of a firearm and possession of an open container. This is Jon Jones’ second DWI.

The Hurt Business star was recently seen in action against Dominic Reyes at UFC 247. The bout wasn’t without controversy as Jon Jones picked up a disputed unanimous decision victory.

It’s truly concerning to see Jon Jones continuing to find himself in legal trouble. One has to wonder if some counseling could do the UFC champion some good. At the rate things are going Jon Jones could find himself in some trouble that he may not be able to get himself out of someday.
