It was a big weekend for UFC and WWE fans alike as former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar made his return to the biggest mixed martial arts promotion in the world. Though it wasn’t a flawless performance, it was pretty close to it as Lesnar brought his opponent Mark Hunt to the mat in the first and third rounds, landing some heavy ground strikes to earn himself a unanimous decision victory against a true veteran of the sport.

Brock Lesnar proved just exactly what it takes to be a high level competitor in one of the toughest sports in the world. Lesnar is a true beast of a man but despite that it wasn’t purely his physicality that won him the match, but also his will to win. Diagnosed with diverticulitis back in 2009, Lesnar had an uphill battle to perform at his highest level. Nevertheless, he persevered and has been able to battle against the odds. Let that be a motivator when you’re looking to quit in the gym this week. Push through and persevere to reach your better self.
