Day One of 2020 World’s Strongest Man Has Been Canceled

Due to mother nature, day one of the 2020 World’s Strongest Man will be canceled.

With 2020 already filled with it’s own set of misfortune, what’s one more to the list? It looks as if the first day of the 2020 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) competition has been canceled. It appears as if the weather conditions have proven to be a hindrance to the event. An official spokesperson for World’s Strongest Man confirmed to Generation Iron this morning:

“Due to inclement weather conditions, the World’s Strongest Man competition will not take place today. We are continuing to closely monitor the weather and are working with the Holmes Beach Police Department and local authorities to prepare for various scenarios as the situation continues to develop.”

Brian Shaw’s quest for WSM title No. 5 will have to wait a little longer. Due to inclement weather conditions, the World’s Strongest Man competition will not take place today. We are continuing to closely monitor the weather and are working with the Holmes Beach Police Department and local authorities to prepare for various scenarios as the situation continues to develop. Please stay tuned for updates.

Event Director, Collin Bryce confirmed the schedule will be pushed back a day and that some events will likely need to be replaced with others. In addition, this may mean that Strongmen may lose a rest day before competing in finals November 14-15, 2020. After Generation Iron announced the schedule of events, we were informed the qualifying rounds were to take place November 11-12, 2020.

For now we’ll have to wait at least for one more day before the World’s Strongest Man competition begins. Hopefully the weather abates long enough for the events to take place without a hitch. Generation Iron will continue to provide more updates.
