GSP SAYS HE’LL BEAT NICK DIAZ “WAY WORSE” THE SECOND TIME

The hatchet is far from buried.

GSP continues to make headlines without stepping foot into the octagon. This time its with old rival Nick Diaz. In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow, George St. Pierre said he wouldn’t mind fighting Nick Diaz in a rematch as well as giving his prediction on how the second fight would go down.

“I don’t care if it’s the first, or second, or third,” GSP said. “If they want me to fight Nick Diaz it would be my pleasure. I don’t mind, I am not afraid of Nick Diaz, I beat him last time, and I’ll beat even worse, I’ll beat him way worse next time that I’ll fight him.”

In case you don’t remember what happened in the first match, it wasn’t exactly a barn burner. GSP used his jiu Jitsu to neutralize Diaz in a one sided 5 round, unanimous decision back in March 2013 of UFC 158. Even though both fighters have have had a long hiatus from fighting, GSP retired in 2013, and Nick Diaz just coming off of an 18 month suspension, it seems no love has been lost between these two.

“I beat him last time easily, but I was not happy — it’s one of these fights that I’m not happy with,” St-Pierre said. “Because I didn’t feel like I gave enough, for different reasons. It left me angry that fight, when I look back at it — maybe I won, but for some reason it left me angry and I feel like I could have done so much better.”

Besides the verbal warfare these guys are also throwing around serious accusations, with Nick Diaz going as far as saying he was “drugged” by one of GSP’s doctors in Canada where the event took place. No one know’s what really happened behind the scenes but we do know that Nick is gunning for the former champion and that George seems more than happy to oblige.

“It seems to me to me like it’s Nick Diaz that is running for another shot at me,” St-Pierre said. “I wouldn’t mind, I’m not afraid of Nick Diaz, I’ll tell you. I am telling you right now. If it’s what the fans want to see, I’m in.”
