JUAN MOREL FALLS BELOW TOP 5 AT NY PRO… WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR HIS FUTURE?

From first to sixth.

For bodybuilders there’s nothing more important than the next competition. The past is simply a building block that has gotten you to your current station. Past glory means nothing in the face of a new competition, a new challenge to overcome. No one wants to come in second place at any given competition, yet there are bodybuilders that don’t even break into the top 5 at an event.

For Juan Morel it’s become his new reality. After coming in first place at last year’s NY Pro, many had high hopes for Morel and the possibilities of becoming a major contender for the much coveted Olympia crown. Morel had the size, the genetics, and the definition to rival any of the top bodybuilders in the world. Or at least that was true last year. Now it seems that Morel has fallen off the wagon, not only conceding the top spot at the show, but also ending up in sixth place.

.

What exactly does this mean for Morel who has always had the potential to become truly great, but somehow always manages to reach just short of greatness? The reality is that Juan Morel still has great potential, can still be a bodybuilding champion, but something obviously needs to change. If he were younger we could chock this up to inexperience or that he still needs time to improve or some other plausible excuse.

But that simply won’t do.

If Juan Morel wants to be at the top of the heap his time is now. He’ll have to dig deep and do some real soul searching in order to figure out what’s wrong and fix it. For Morel there’s simply no more time to waste. There is still a possibility that he could challenge the very best in the world, but he’ll have to find exactly what he’s lacking and attack it with relish in order to cultivate the kind of physique he’s more than capable of sculpting. Until then Morel will simply just be another great bodybuilder who was just shy of reaching the summit.

Do you think Juan Morel can still improve?
