THE #1 REASON FRANK ZANE WAS A MASTER OF THE GOLDEN ERA

Generation Iron Frank Zane Golden Era

Frank Zane was the epitome of a champion in the Golden Era of bodybuilding.

Frank Zane was undoubtedly one of the greatest Olympia champions of all time. The three time overall champion wasn’t as large as many of the open weight bodybuilders that competed at the time, but he had good size and the kind of shredded physique that no one could ignore. His ability to take out larger competition with his symmetrical and proportioned physique as well as his great posing ability made him a threat to any of the bodybuilders during the Golden Era.

We have no doubts that if Frank was still in the same form as he was in his heyday, he’d dominate the competition, particularly in the physique class. But that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have what it takes to stand against the likes of Kai Greene and Phil Heath. Though he may not be as large as the current field of open weight bodybuilders but Zane makes up for it with his lack of size. How does that make sense? His V-Taper is second to none, his lean frame allows for a more shredded form, and rather than focus on putting on more muscle he focused on being as streamlined as possible.

Besides his lean form actually giving him an advantage over bulkier bodybuilders, Zane was also a master poser. He had a fluidity with his motion and a powerful grace that was both precise and artful as well as powerful in its execution. But don’t take our word for it. Take a look at the video below of the former Mr. Olympia champion showing off some of the classic poses that allowed him to dominate the competition.
