Strength Wars Movie

This man proves how jaw dropping the vacuum pose can be when mastered.

According to many bodybuilding aficionados the pinnacle of the sport has already passed many of us by. Many believe that the time when the sport was at its greatest was during the Golden Era which featured some of the most respected pros in the history of the sport. There’s a reason that many people have wanted to see bodybuilding return to its roots. The competitors of the past were far more concerned with aesthetic muscle rather than just simply building massive muscle. They also performed poses and techniques that many bodybuilders of today are either unable to perform or simply have discarded from their skill set, namely the vacuum.

The vacuum pose was once a major staple of bodybuilding. If you want to impress the judges and put on a tremendous showing then there’s no doubt that the vacuum would be amongst one of the many poses that a professional would have to master. Pros like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sergio Oliva, Frank Zane, and Franco Columbu just to name a few were all individuals who utilized vacuuming in their posing routine. It isn’t a coincidence that each of these men once held the title of Mr. Olympia.

There a tremendous amount of benefits for practicing the vacuum pose, chief among them being a tighter and smaller waist. During the Golden Era it was impossible to win a pro show if you had a thick stomach. The criteria expressly called for having a tight waist to contrast the broader shoulders and lats to make a V Taper. These days the criteria is vastly different for open weight bodybuilding that doesn’t hold great emphasis on having a small waist.

But there’s a reason that the Classic Physique division was created and more than likely the vacuum pose will be making a comeback pretty soon. Until that day check out this insane video of a the man who calls himself “The Hungarian Experiment.” His vacuum transformation is truly something to behold.

To you put great emphasis on the vacuum pose?
