Can Big Ramy overcome Dexter Jackson?

With the shadow of the 2016 Olympia still lingering over bodybuilding, it was easy to miss last weekend’s Arnold Classic event. Sure, it’s also one of the biggest shows of the year, but the fact that there was no major story line made things less dire so to speak. But in reality, winning the Arnolds carry a great deal of weight as well. The event featured long time veteran Dexter Jackson against the constantly improving Mamdouh Elssbiay better known by his nickname “Big Ramy”.

While many thought Big Ramy was the clear winner at the Arnold Classic Europe, the judges saw it for Dexter Jackson. “The Blade” is always on point and ready for competition, but many fans and experts saw Big Ramy as the clear winner of the show, the ultimate decision being a slap in the face to the talented Egyptian bodybuilder. Even at the Olympia, there were many who believed that Big Ramy deserved to take second place as he was the one bodybuilder to rival the physique of champion Phil Heath.

Though he came in undersized at the beginning of the Olympia weekend, Big Ramy made the proper adjustments overnight to be able to contend with the other competitors in the top five. At the Arnold Classic Europe Big Ramy was able to make even more improvements since the Olympia leading many to believe that he had done enough to overtake the entire field of competitors. But the judges are the ones who make the final call and evidently to them Dexter Jackson was more impressive.

Now that the Arnold Classic Europe is in the past, Big Ramy has a chance at revenge when he faces off against the same field of competitors, including Dexter Jackson, at the IFBB Kuwait Pro.
