The expo will host an all-natural, vegan bodybuilding competition, which is the first of its kind.

Vegan bodybuilding is something that has been growing in recent years. Now, it will take another step forward with a competition scheduled during the Vegan Health and Fitness Expo.

on April 15, the VHFE will take place in Fort Lauderdale, FL with one of the main attractions being an all-natural, vegan bodybuilding competition. The idea of following a plant-based diet in bodybuilding has taken shape over the last few years. In 2022, the International Natural Bodybuilding Association offered a special division for vegans during the Natural Universe in Tampa, FL. This was the first competition to offer a separate division for vegan bodybuilders.

Michael Ferencski has become a big voice in began bodybuilding. He is a vegan and animal rights activist who also competes in the PNBA Men’s Bodybuilding Grand Masters category. Tamer Barakat is another vegan who has dabbled in natural bodybuilding. Barakat has followed a diet that is 90% plant-based.

Last year, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared that he was currently following a plant-based diet at an 80% clip over the last five years. Schwarzenegger made it clear that he is not only following this diet plan because of his health. He is also interested in the impact that it has on the environment. He mentions that pollution is a major factor in the United States. Schwarzenegger claims that eating less meat means that less and less forests will be cleared, ultimately creating more food for animals.
