Jay Cutler continues to share his best workouts and this time, it was about the best overall exercise.

Jay Cutler has built a social media presence that is followed by many looking to receive information about weightlifting. Cutler continues to share his wisdom with the next generation and did so once again when he shared his top exercises for each body part.

Jay Cutler rose to popularity after challenging bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman for the Olympia title 2001. Coleman had been winning since 1998, and a fierce rivalry began between the two, which ended in Jay Cutler finally winning the top prize in 2006. He went on to win Mr. Olympia three more times but hasn’t officially competed since 2013.

Cutler took to Instagram to break down each body part and share the best and most effective exercises.

Jay Cutler’s Top Exercises

The Instagram video began with Jay Cutler going from the legs up to share his best exercises for each body part.

Legs

Cutler broke down legs into three main components — calves, quads, and hamstrings.

“I think your basic standing calf raise would be ideal for me. Quads, definitely the squat, extremely heavy of course. Hamstrings, I would say stiff-legged deadlifts, whether it’s with dumbbells or barbells.”

Upper Body

The conversation continued with Cutler discussing upper body exercises. He laid out the top exercises he would choose for chest, shoulders, and back.

“Back movement, your pull-ups. That’s going to give you that V-taper. Shoulders, I would definitely say the shoulder press, whether it’s dumbbell, barbell, machine, Smith machine. Chest training, your basic bench press. Although, I don’t dictate a lot of barbell movements, I would focus on dumbbell movements.”

Arms

From the upper body, Cutler began discussing biceps and triceps.

“Arm training, your standard barbell curl. Whether it’s a cambered bar, straight bar, that exercise is going to build the arms the most.

Triceps, I would say dips. Look at these guys in the Olympics. They have the crazy triceps where they work on the rings. The dip being a lock out movement for the triceps. That’s really ideal.”

Forearms & Abs

Jay Cutler did not forget any body part when he made this video. He wanted to make sure that all bases were covered in the end.

“Forearms, I would definitely say wrist curls. That’s going to help build your forearms a little more.

Ab training, I would say hanging leg raises. That’s going to hit there a lot deeper and help you develop that ab wall.”
