Does he have a right to be mad or was the spotter too helpful??
There’s no way around it – working out in the gym comes with a base level of danger. You are lifting heavy weights after all. It’s like operating massive machinery, there’s always some risk involved but there are also safety measures in place to prevent that from happening.
In the gym one of those safety measures is a spotter. It makes sense after all, when you are pushing yourself to failure you better have someone to help you out if you can’t make that final lift onto the rack. Yet there is a delicate line that the spotter cannot cross. You don’t want to be in the zone only for a spotter to help you out prematurely… ruining your set.
So that brings us to the situation in the video above. This guy goes off on a spotter for helping him out. Who was in the wrong? Do we have an overly sensitive lifter with a case of rage problems? Or a spotter who was too helpful for his own good? Let us know in the comments below.
