THE ULTIMATE THREE-IN-ONE EXERCISE: HAMMER YOUR REAR DELTS, UPPER BACK, AND BICEPS

Generation Iron Delts Upper Back Biceps Exercise

Generation Iron Delts Upper Back Biceps Exercise

All at the same time.

When you consider a bodybuilder’s usual routine for the most part you’ll think about split training. For the most part split training has become the staple of the modern day bodybuilder and essentially it’s the best and most logical way to train the body. With split training you’re able to really focus on specific muscle groups and body parts. When you can break things down to the point where you can focus solely on building up your chest or adding size to your quads then it becomes a fairly simple task to build up the body. But not everyone has the same amount of time to devout to being in the gym and building up the body. Some people don’t have the luxury of heading to the gym five to six times a week.

.

If you can’t head to the gym consistently then how exactly should you proceed with training? Well a great solution is to perform full body training in order to attack multiple muscle groups in one training session. To many it may seem to be counter intuitive simply because you won’t be able to devote as much time as you want on a specific body part. But total body training is certainly beneficial if it’s done right, with the correct techniques and form.

One great example of an exercise that will allow you to hit multiple muscle groups is the chest supported reverse fly and hammer curl combination, an exercise that hits the upper back, rear delts, and the biceps all in one. It’s definitely an exercise that’s outside the box, but one that can be effective if you have the patience to get things right and use correct form. Check out the video below on how to perform this movement.

Hardcore Motivation: Bradley Martyn And Simeon Panda Train Legs To The Extreme

Generation Iron Bradley Martyn Simeon Panda

Blasting through leg day.

Of all the days of a bodybuilder’s training split there’s no doubt that the most important day of them all has to be leg day. That’s right, it’s the one day that most athlete wish to skip just due to the sheer intensity and dedication required. Training legs is perhaps the most daunting of all the body parts to train. Consider the fact that you’re constantly using your lower half to either stand, walk, jog, or even sit down. All of that requires effort, yes even sitting, making leg day one of the more difficult days to get through just due to the fact that the lower body is always being stimulated throughout the day.

Any athlete including a bodybuilder is going to want to focus a great deal of their attention on leg for a couple of reasons. A great deal of strength and power is generated from the legs and can help with a multitude of different lifts. The reason stems from the fact that the number one exercise utilized for leg day is the squat, the king of all exercises. A strength athlete, football player, mixed martial artist, if any of them wish to have explosive strength in their respective fields then leg day is an absolute must and that also rings true for bodybuilders.

When it comes to natural bodybuilding there are a few individuals out there that are ganering a great deal of attention. Bradley Martyn and Simeon Panda are two fitness athletes that not only claim the natty title, but also train extremely hard in the gym. The two men are known for their work ethic and impressive genetics and know a thing or two about building an impressive physique. Take a look at the two training on their favorite day of the week, you guessed it, leg day.

BEN ROTHWELL GETS SHAFTED – AGAIN – FOR THE HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE!

Ben Rothwell

Treated like a redheaded stepchild

Early this morning UFC let out a tweet stating that Heavyweights Ben Rothwell and Junior dos Santos will meet April 10 at UFC Fight Night 86 in Zagreb, Croatia. https://twitter.com/ufc/status/696619495176036352/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw While this is an exciting match up to some, any real UFC fan knows that this is a disgrace. Not because the fight won’t be exciting (Dos Anjos has never lost back to back and Rothwell is a straight beast), but because Rothwell should be fighting for the title or at least fighting the top 2 contenders. We don’t understand how someone on a 4 fight win streak, all by K.O. and submission, gets someone not even in the top #5 and coming off of a loss? Oh, and did we mention Rothwell also knocked out currently ranked number #3 (and in contention for a title shot)  Alistair Overeem in the first round? In all fairness Ben Rothwell should be fighting either Stipe Miocic or for the title. In my opinion he should be fighting for the title. Whether he waits for the winner of Caine Velasquez and Werdum or jumps straight in and fights Werdum, Ben Rothwell deserves a big fight.  I pick him over Stipe because his win streak is longer and more impressive. While stipe has a string of wins minus a set back against Junior Dos Anjos. Ben has been finishing people in brutal fashion – including his latest victim Josh Barnett by tapout…that’s right, he submitted Josh Barnett!!! I know Stipe’s the biggest draw but please, please UFC make it about the sport and not about the business. That’s the part I  don’t get, MMA is a beautiful, interesting, and dynamic sport, we don’t need all the hijinks and fan favorite bull crap. This is not WWE, this is the NFL, this is the NBA, this is  SPORT, not SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT. I get it, they want to grow the brand, but at what cost? Fans don’t pick who plays who in the NFL, the opportunity goes to the victor. Sure they’re, disappointed, but that’s part of the game. People still tune it. That’s what happens in real sports, some people win and some people lose and we deal with it. Conor McGregor is a great addition to the sport and he’s making fighters more business minded – I get that, and I’m good with it. But when the whole sport becomes a business, and people like Frankie Edgar have to start changing up their personalities and become a promoter despite his resume, then that’s not right. I agree with Damien Maia – UFC has definitely have to come up with a more calculated way to set up match ups because the way it’s going now leaves too much room for “interpretation”, and it seems to always be interpreted as dollars and cents. But forget about me. I’m just a guy on a computer ranting and raving. What do you think? Hit us up with all your comments below. Also, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Before The Mass Monster Ronnie Coleman Had An Insane Classic Physique

Generation Iron Ronnie Coleman Classic Physique

A different look at one of the biggest bodybuilders in history.

With the Arnold Classic just weeks away, fans and pundits will be able to see the first major Classic Physique competition take place in Ohio. The Arnold Classic is a marquee event for bodybuilding, the second biggest next to the Olympia event held every fall. That means when Classic Physique competitors hit the stage this March all eyes will be on the athletes. We can only wait and see how it’s all received.

There has been a considerable amount of supporters and detractors voicing their opinions leading up to the Arnold Classic, two camps who either believe the Classic Physique division is a godsend or utterly useless. These days the bodybuilding game is dominated by the mass monster. Ever since the days of Dorian Yates, bodybuilders have become bigger with every passing year. Posing and presentation has taken a back seat to bulging muscle and mass and the ultimate goal for many bodybuilders in the sport is to become as big as they possibly can. With the introduction of the Classic Physique division we could be see a changing of the guard or, perhaps more accurately, a return to form.

With so many people decrying the open weight division for supporting the mass monster movement, it brings to mind an interesting question. Would the mass monsters of today look more impressive with a classic physique? Well, in reality we won’t have to search to far to find the answer. Every bodybuilder, even a mass monster, has to start somewhere even a legend like Ronnie Coleman.

Coleman, the eight time Olympia champion, is considered to be one of the most dominant champions in bodybuilding history, all of his big wins due to the fact that he had an insanely massive physique. But Coleman wasn’t always a mass monster. In fact, he may have looked even more impressive in his earlier years of bodybuilding than when he stepped onto the Olympia stage. Take a look at the pic below and you be the judge.

So what do you guys think? In this day and age where everyone is talking about bodybuilder’s massive size vs the classic physique look…. what version of Ronnie Coleman do you prefer? Vote now in our poll below!

UFC OPEN WORKOUTS: HENDRICKS LOOKING LEAN, THOMPSON LOOKING MEAN

hendrick thompson open workout headerSaturday can’t come fast enough.

With only one more day until UFC Fight Night 82 the fighters are prepped and ready to take action. Main event fighters Johny Hendricks and Stephen Thompson have done all the preparation and now it’s time for the two to meet in a five round bout that could determined the next welterweight number one contender. Leading into the event many, including myself, were curious as to Johny Hendricks and his weight cutting issues. God knows cutting weight isn’t easy especially with all the good food we have these days, but the fact that Hendricks was unable to make weight in his last intended bout, a match up with fellow welterweight contender Tyron Woodley, was a pretty alarming and eye opening turn of events. The Texan had to go back to the drawing board, truly assess all the problems and issues he was facing going into the last match and try to find a way to reinvent himself. If the video from the open workouts are any indication, it seems that Hendricks may have a handle on his weight. Take a look at the video below of Hendricks hitting the pads in front of a crowd of avid fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EuqW11znOM While Hendricks’ physique was certainly a sticking point, another major question that needs to be answered is just how good is Stephen Thompson? His thrashing of opponents like Jake Ellenberger, Robert Whittaker, and Patrick Cote were nothing short of impressive. He has proven himself to be an accurate and dangerous striker with pinpoint precision and belief in his striking abilities that he’ll be the one to come out on top. But Thompson has never faced a man the caliber of Hendricks and this fight will be the true indicator of just how far the former kickboxer can go. Check out his open workout highlights to see exactly what Thompson will be bringing to the table, fun, diverse striking and plenty of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2tv5TH0koE Who do you think will be victorious come Saturday night? SHOTS FIRED: MAN SHOT DEAD IN DUBLIN BOXING GYM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_fukxl2Wm4

Violence before the violence

At around 2:30 p.m. today 2 men were injured and 1 man was shot dead at a WBO weigh in at the Regency Hotel in Dublin, Ireland.  The incident occurred ahead of Saturday night’s European lightweight bout between Jamie Kavanagh and Antonio Joao Bento. According to witnesses, two gunmen dressed as Police Officers entered the hotel and began opening fire. According to the BBC, Radio Foyle’s sports reporter Kevin McAnena, who was at the bout  said he “never felt terror like it” when one of the attackers pointed a gun at him. He said he saw one of the gunmen shoot a man in the leg “about six feet away” from him. “I heard two loud gunshots from outside coming into the hotel,” he said. “At which point, two men, who I thought were [police] officers – turns out they were just dressed up in [police] uniform – came in with guns.” Irish boxing While the motives are still unknown – the police don’t believe these shootings are random. They believe they might be gang related but nothing is confirmed. None of the fighters were targeted as Kavanagh tweeted shortly after the incident that he was fine, adding: “I was lucky today is all I can say.” The pay-per-view channel Box Nation was due to broadcast Saturday’s fight as part of the Clash of the Clans show at Dublin’s National Stadium. But it has said the event has now been cancelled.

AFTER ALL THESE YEARS KEVIN LEVRONE STILL TEARS SH*T UP IN THE GYM

Generation Iron Kevin Levrone

Strength Really Is The Last Thing To Go.

Professional bodybuilding is a pretty taxing endeavor to say the least. An athlete must push themselves past their limits in order to make even the smallest of improvements. You can’t simply head to the gym, lift some weights and think you’ll cut it as a professional bodybuilder. It takes strategy, timing, diligence and much more to be able to get on stage and wow the world with your acquired physique. There’s a reason why only a few bodybuilders ever reach the heights of individuals like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno. To be a bodybuilder of prominence meant having a drive that could nearly go unmatched.

[wptouch target=”mobile”][/wptouch]
[wptouch target=”non-mobile”] [/wptouch]

But there comes a time in every professional athlete’s life that they’ll have to hang it up and retire. The body can take only so much wear and tear before it begins to fall apart. That’s true of every professional athlete who reaches the pinnacle of their sport. Like having your car in the red, the body begins to overheat with sustained pressure and taxing training.

Nevertheless, that’s not an excuse to take it easy and watch your stomach grow. In fact, the time after retiring is perhaps the most important time in a professional athlete’s life and pro bodybuilders are no different. Just because you’re not hitting the stage anymore doesn’t mean you should completely drop your training regimen. Much like a classic car, in order to keep the body revving you’ll have to take it for a drive around the corner or risk it shutting down for good.

It looks as though former pro bodybuilder, the man that many call “the uncrowned Mr. Olympia,” Kevin Levrone has taken that exact notion to heart. Rather than rest on his laurels in retirement, Levrone is still training hard and can even lift three plates for reps. His Instagram is highlighting as much. Take a look.

Are you impressed with Kevin Levrone’s strength even in retirement? Let us know in the comments and forums. Also, be sure to follow Generation Iron on Facebook and Twitter.

FEDERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST CELLUCOR (AND THEIR C4 SERIES)

Times are changing for the supplement industry.

Training for bodybuilding is at once simple and a tall task. Simple because the concept is that a person needs to find a body part they wish to build up and utilize resistance training to perfect that particular muscle group. What makes bodybuilding so difficult is undoubtedly the amount of time and effort you need to put into training to actual see the results you want.

Lifting weights is the name of the game and that can either come easy or can be extremely difficult based on a number outside factors, namely your nutrition and supplementation. In order to build quality muscle you need to have a number of nutrients, some of which you couldn’t possibly get enough of from food alone. This is why supplementation has grown so popular.

[wptouch target=”mobile”][/wptouch]
[wptouch target=”non-mobile”] [/wptouch]
.

But supplementing can go far beyond simply wishing to getting all your nutrients. For example, pre-workout is something that many people use before a training session in hopes of getting extra energy during training. Well, if you were one of those who utilized the popular Cellucor product C4, a pre-workout supplement, you’ll be surprised to learn that the company is having a federal class action lawsuit filed against them.

According to Medium.com – Cellucor is yet another supplement company to get targeted by the government. And with a popular product like C4 being attacked – this seems like a the beginning of a large movement to crack down on the supplement industry.

These days it seems like more and more supplement companies are being brought to court for containing banned substances. The substance in question is amino nitrates which are no doubt found in a number of different supplements including pre-wrokout powders. Like MusclePharm before them, Cellucor will have to defend themselves in court and get FDA approval to cell their products.

If you’re questioning the authenticity of these claims then take a look at the filed paperwork below, all thanks to Medium.com
