The 2016 Olympia is shaping up to being one to the best events of the last few years. The competition has never been more fierce with athletes from the around the world hoping to bring their best to the stage. Though Phil Heath may be the reigning Olympia king there are plenty of individuals who have what it takes to throw the champ off his game. Heath has been looking pretty well put together through the off season as well as fellow veteran Dexter Jackson whose had a major career resurgence. But there is still someone hoping to crack the top five.

Roelly Winklaar has looked pretty damn impressive this year. He’s beat out some top competition and though he came in second place to Dexter Jackson at the NY Pro, Winklaar has clearly made some improvements with his physique as well as his conditioning. He has a tough road ahead of him as he’ll have to deal with monsters like Heath, Jackson, Shawn Rhoden, and, provided that he’s healthy enough to compete, Dennis Wolf.

Many have counted Roelly Winklaar out as being a bodybuilder with good size and definition, but never quite putting everything together. Winklaar’s conditioning and lack of posing acumen has been his downfall in the past and could still prove to be the weakest parts of his game, but despite that it’s pretty clear that Roelly is working hard to overcome those limitations.

With few months to go until the 2016 Olympia, time is running out for the competitors to be prepared for the toughest bodybuilding competition out there. But if the video below is any indication, Roelly Winklaar is taking his prep seriously this year and is pushing hard to bring the best version of himself to the stage.
