Generation Iron Gironda 8x8 Training

Ultimate conditioning.

When it comes to achieving consistent hypertrophy you have to have a specific training program in order to get gains. There are so many different methods that can be used for achieving hypertrophy, training programs that ensure a lifter will shape a well built and shredded physique. But over training and hitting a plateau is always a major risk for a bodybuilder and that means having different methods you can lean on in case you run into that wall.

Sometimes the best methods are ones that are tried and true, proven and tested by the pros. Vince Gironda was one of the greatest bodybuilders to ever do it. Nicknamed the “Guru”, Gironda used his wealth of knowledge to attain a powerful, shredded, and well muscled physique, all of it done through using his old school methodology about training. The system that Gironda utilized worked for his body type and, though everyone is different, the concepts can definitely work for others as well.

Gironda’s 8×8 training program was one that any athlete could use for a multitude of gains. Not only can the program help the user build some quality muscle, but it can also be used for some grade A conditioning as well.

So how exactly does Gironda’s 8×8 training program work? Well, the idea is to perform 8 sets of 8 reps of which ever workout of your choosing. So that means this can be done on leg day, arm day, chest, or back depending on how your split is designed. When performing the exercises the point is to perform the lifts with 60% of your one rep max. This is high volume training so the weight should be manageable. Once you perform the 8 reps take only a 30 second break in between sets in order to experience a crazy pump as well as improve your conditioning. It may be a simple concept, but it’s one that has proven to be very effective. In a sea of different training programs, this could prove to be one the best out there. Give it a try.
