Wellness division joins the Arnold Amateur 2020 line up.
The Arnold Amateur NPC International Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Physique Championships, a competition which is already marked as one of the world’s largest amateur bodybuilding competitions, is now adding the Wellness Division into the competition lineup.
The newly created Wellness division, now recognized by the National Physique Committee and the IFBB Pro League, will be held at the Arnold Amateur for the first time in 2020. It will be the first pro qualifier in the United States – meaning that the overall winner will earn IFBB Pro League status.
“We are excited to add Wellness in 2020 as we believe it will grow into one of the sport’s most popular divisions in coming years,” said Mike Davies, Arnold Amateur co-promoter. “Our goal for the Arnold Amateur has always been to encourage and provide an opportunity for as many athletes as possible and this new division opens the NPC and IFBB Pro League to even more competitors.”
The 2020 Arnold Amateur will be held Thursday, March 5-7 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio as part the annual Arnold Sports Festival.
Per NPC News Online, the Welness Division is described as followed:
This division is for females with athletic physique’s that showcase more body mass in the hips, glutes and thigh areas. The upper body is developed but not to the same degree as the lower body.
