Battle tested for insane gains.

This weekend saw some major shake ups in the mixed martial arts world. Brash, fast talking, Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor took out the reigning UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, a man who hasn’t lost a fight in ten years until this past Saturday. It took McGregor only 13 seconds to dispatch the former champion with a powerful left cross counter punch. What does that have to do with bodybuilding? A great deal if actually take a moment to consider things.

Upsets are always possible in any sporting endeavors, bodybuilding included. The reigning champion Phil Heath seems to be pretty unbeatable, yet the possibility that the five time Olympia winner could be beat is still an intriguing factor to consider. It’s what keeps us tuning in to IFBB events, it’s what makes things so compelling. In order to stay on top of the game that means training hard, training consistently, and staying motivated.
