Monday Motivation: Bionic Body Impresses At The 2018 Toronto Pro

Edgard John-Augustin, the “Bionic Body”, is a true inspiration.

Fulfilling your dream can be a daunting task. Most people dream, dream of a better tomorrow, of what they wish their future to be, of the goals they wish to accomplish while they are here on Earth. To dream is to be alive. To fulfill that dream is equal parts exciting and terrifying at once. Edgard John-Augustin is a man living his dream and making no excuses along the way.

After losing his legs at only four years old in a horrible car accident, it’s safe to say things were an uphill battle for Edgard John-Augustin. He survived bullying and ridicule from his peers growing up as children are prone to cruelty for they do not understand the weight their words carry. But those episodes of bullying and doubt would lead Edgard John-Augustin to become the man he is today. To become the man proudly dubbed “Bionic Body” a name that signifies both Edgard’s physical and mental strength.

When the man who would become known as Bionic Body discovered weightlifting, everything changed. Edgard began to build his body through tireless training, a dedication to nutrition, and an indomitable will to succeed. That drive led him to an IFBB Pro card, a feat that still impresses to this day.

Likely for Edgard, it wasn’t all that surprises. He knows the hard work he put in to become the man he is today, to become the Bionic Body. He alone knows the kind of hard work and sacrifice he needed to put forth in order to build himself to his current stature.

This past weekend at the 2018 Toronto Pro saw Edgard competing against some of the best and brightest the Classic Physique division had to offer. He acquitted himself well against great bodybuilders such as Terrence Ruffin. It’s this kind of impressive showcase that motivates us to no longer make excuses, to avoid making excuses and do the hard work necessary to fulfill our long standing dreams. Let Edgard John-Augustin, the Bionic Body, motivate you to achieve every dream you hold dear.
