Shanique Grant Is Out Of The Olympia Due To Detached Retina

Bad luck once again strikes for Shanique Grant just weeks out from the Olympia.

Training for athletic competition requires a ton of dedication and passion to your particular craft. If you’re looking to become a high level champion in any sport then it means sacrificing and putting your best foot forward in the hopes of gaining success and glory. But the truth of the matter is that if you’re training at a high level, injuries are undoubtedly going to occur. For bodybuilding that usually means muscle tears and damage to the body parts being utilized. Shanique Grant however is facing a far more rare case.

Shanique Grant has just recently announced that she will no longer be competing at the 2017 Olympia due to having a detached retina. After undergoing surgery for her right eye it appears that she won’t be able to diet and train in the way that she needs to in order to be in the best condition possible for the Olympia. The Instagram post below explains Shanique Grant’s unfortunate situation and circumstances.

No stranger to facing adversity, Shanique Grant once found herself unable to compete due to being stabbed which prevented her from training. It’s a truly unfortunate chain of events and one can’t help but feel that she can’t catch a break. But from the post she’s made it looks as if Shanique Grant is staying positive and will once again get back to training once she’s permitted to by doctors.
