We all know that Gold’s Gym is the most popular bodybuilding gym in the history of the sport. It’s been dubbed The Mecca of bodybuilding and has since gone on to be a sort of “bodybuilder tourist spot” for many hoping to rise up and compete in bodybuilding. But what was it exactly about that gym that attracted the original crew that made it so famous?

Ric Drasin is a sort of oral historian for bodybuilding and was at Gold’s Gym during the time of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Columbu, and other legends that made the gym famous.
