A bar brawl took a pretty horrifying turn.
Medi Cogan is an avid bodybuilder and it shows in his tremendous physique. He’s guilty for following training protocols and the steps needed to build the human body into a vision of strength. He’s also guilty of biting a man’s ear off during a bar brawl.
Now, it’s not rare for individuals to engage in fisticuffs, especially when alcohol is involved. But usually both parties leave with their lives and all their body parts intact. Whatever beef Cogan had with the victim, Shane Armstrong, must have been intense enough that he thought biting the man’s ear off was a logical and viable option.
Captured on a CCTV security cam, both and Armstrong are shown to have stripped to the waist and square up. For the average bodybuilding fan this could have looked like the two were getting ready for the pose down, but once the first punch was thrown it was pretty obvious that the confrontation was devolving into a combat situation.
Some time during the confrontation, Cogan went from throwing fists to biting Armstrong’s ear leaving it hanging off. No doubt it’s a move that Mike Tyson circa 1997 would have approved of.
Mark Bury, judge overseeing the case, described Cogan’s behavior as “bestial”.
“You, on the CCTV footage I have seen, were spoiling for a fight with Mr Armstrong,” said Bury. “Had it not been for the fact you used your teeth I would not be sending you to custody.”
It makes you wonder if Cogan had been resolved to finish the fight purely with his fists, would the judge really have just let him off with a warning? We’ll never really know that for sure, but it does raise some pretty interesting questions indeed.
What do you think of this bodybuilder getting bestial during a bar brawl?
