Bodybuilder Dies Of Organ Failure After Tearing Tricep In Freak Training Accident

Another untimely passing.

Bodybuilding for the most part can be a relatively safe and healthy endeavor. Building up the body to make a stronger and healthier form is a primary goal of many average individuals. For those wishing to become champions however, it’s necessary to push the body to limit in order to bring about ultimate gains.

Every amateur and professional bodybuilder understands that pushing the body hard is all apart of bringing about massive muscle growth. But this kind of training brings inherent danger and can be life altering in some cases, and even deadly.

Colombian bodybuilder Rodolfo Torres Rojas, 31, was simply hoping to take his bodybuilding career to new heights when he moved from his native homeland to Russia. While in Russia, Rodolfo married a woman he met online and settled into life in his new foreign land. His bodybuilding training would continue to progress until suffering a terrible injury in a freak accident in the gym.

Pics shows: Rodolfo Torres Rojas; A bodybuilder who moved to Russia to improve his training died in agony after a freak training accident. Colombian-born world title hopeful Rodolfo Torres Rojas had moved to Perm after marrying a Russian woman he had met online. But the 31-year-old hunk died from multiple organ failure after developing sepsis following a tear to the triceps in his right arm. After treatment at a local clinic, say Rodolfo's family - he was sent home with prescription drugs and told he would be fine. But after five days he collapsed with soaring temperatures and acute pain and died the next month after 20 days in a coma in intensive care. His father told Colombian media: "We believe that during the clinic's procedure for pain control, my son was infected with bacteria. "This plus some medical negligence, caused his death." He added: "He was diagnosed with sepsis, the infection progressed through his whole body. "His heart had been affected and also part of his brain. At the start, it was thought his arm had to be amputated, but they decided to treat him with medicines. "Then his kidneys were affected and he went downhill." Rodolfo's family say they are now appealing to the Colombian government for help in flying his body home. His mother Maria Eugenia Rojas said: "His wife Anna called us to tell us that she had been told that my son was in the morgue, so that we ask the national government to help us in the repatriation. "The pain is so big. But he is now in God's hands, and the only thing I want is to bury him here in Colombia."
Rodolfo would suffer a severe tricep tear in his right arm. He sought help at a local clinic where he was given prescription drugs and told that he’d make a full recover. This however wasn’t the case. Instead, Rodolfo developed sepsis from the his injury. The bacterial infection entered his bloodstream and infected other major organs in his body including his heart, brain, and kidneys. Five days later Rodolfo collapsed at home with skyrocketing temperatures and intense pain and was rushed to the hospital. After remaining in a coma for 20 days, the young bodybuilder passed away. Now his father is claiming negligence as the reason for his son’s untimely death. His father would go on to state the following to Colombian media:

“We believe that during the clinic’s procedure for pain control, my son was infected with bacteria. This plus some medical negligence, caused his death. He was diagnosed with sepsis, the infection progressed through his whole body. His heart had been affected and also part of his brain. At the start, it was thought his arm had to be amputated, but they decided to treat him with medicines. Then his kidneys were affected and he went downhill.”

Rodolfo’s mother added:

“His wife Anna called us to tell us that she had been told that my son was in the morgue, so that we ask the national government to help us in the repatriation. The pain is so much. But he is now in God’s hands, and the only thing I want is to bury him here in Colombia.”

The recent bodybuilding deaths have been truly shocking and bringing more awareness that the number one priority in this endeavor should be safety.
