Bodybuilder Turned MMA Fighter Erko Jun Picks Up Crazy KO in Pro Debut at KSW 44

From bodybuilding and fitness to knockouts in an MMA cage.

With more and more celebrity and fitness figures joining the ranks of mixed martial arts, this past weekend seemed to work as a barometer for what’s possible for novices in the sport. Where former WWE professional wrestler CM Punk was crushed and dominated at UFC 225, we saw a much different result at KSW 44 where bodybuilder and fitness model Erko Jun picked up a pretty insane knockout victory in his pro debut.

As far as first fights go, it was certainly a learning experience for the 27 year old fitness model. Erko Jun always had a reputation for being a rogue in his youth. The Bosnian native who grew up in Belgium often found himself getting into trouble on the streets which ultimately led him to training in the martial arts as a means of escaping the street life.

He took up taekwondo and MMA but eventually suffer a leg injury that led doctors to believe that Jun would never regain full use of the limb again. With his MMA dreams crushed for the time being, Erko Jun was given another option: weight training.

From that point forward Erko Jun would go on to transform his body, inspired by bodybuilders like Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler. He transitioned to fitness modeling shortly thereafter, but the MMA bug was still gnawing at him.

Enter KSW.

With Poland’s top MMA promotion constantly looking for new talent, Erko Jun was given the opportunity to live out his MMA dreams in front of the masses. Fighting is no easy task and requires a certain level of grit and competitive determination. Both were on display at last weekend’s KSW 44. Take a look at Erko Jun’s impressive showing that saw him face some adversity before scoring an impressive win.
