Sounds like Malignaggi vs McGregor would shape up to be an awesome boxing match.
With the biggest boxing match of all time upon us later this month, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are preparing themselves for the fight of their lives. While Mayweather is used to boxing contests of this magnitude, Conor McGregor has had to put a ton of time, effort, and money into his preparation for his bout against boxing’s greatest.
In order to prepare, Conor McGregor has enlisted the talents of former world champion boxing Paulie Malignaggi. The well respected Malanaggi has been sparring with the UFC star in Las Vegas. As such, you can bet any and everyone has shown some interest into how Conor McGregor has fared in training with such a talented and high level boxer.
To hear Malignaggi tell it, McGregor has some real talent, but his highly touted power isn’t as incredible as everyone has claimed. But it could be a bit of gamesmanship on the side of Malignaggi as recent reports claim that Conor McGregor and the former world champion boxer have been getting out of control during their sparring sessions.
Respected boxing referee Joe Cortez has been helping Conor acclimate to the boxing ring and has overseen the sparring rounds between the UFC champion and the former boxing champion turned analyst. According to Cortez, it appears that things have been really hectic when Malignaggi and McGregor share the ring.

If Cortez is to be believed, Conor and Paulie sound evenly matched in the ring which could imply that the mixed martial arts star could have more than just a punchers chance when he enters the ring opposite Floyd Mayweather. It could all be a ploy of course, but for now, why not hope for the best. After all, there’s nothing wrong with hoping for a war between Conor and Floyd on August 26.
