Courtney King Announces Her Retirement From Competition

The bodybuilding and fitness world has been hit with some shocking news today as former Ms Bikini Olympia champion Courtney King has suddenly announced her retirement.

Last year, Courtney King had announced that she would not be competing in the 2017 Olympia competition siting health related issues. The announcement of her retirement has come out of nowhere and has sent shockwaves through the industry. The former Ms. Bikini Olympia champion announced the news on her Instagram page.

Y’all. I can’t believe this pic was taken a year ago this upcoming weekend ? it’s crazy how time can be our most valuable teacher. The @arnoldsportsau was my last competitive IFBB pro show and will stay my last show forever. It’s a bitter sweet good bye and many of you’ve asked if I’ll ever compete again, I’ve always said “maybe in the future I don’t know yet” but now I can honestly say that during this time away from the competing world and that side of fitness I will never compete again. The stage and the competitive side of fitness I will forever be grateful for. It has taught me drive, extreme discipline, mental toughness and pushing my body and mind to a limit far beyond normal. At this stage in my life I have accomplished all I’ve wanted to with competing. I’ve had my fair shares of high times and fair shares of lows. I could go on and on about my journey with the stage and my time in the sport but I will leave it on a positive note walking away and fully knowing in my heart it was the best decision I’ve made. ??
