This full day of eating is insane!
In strength sports building up a strong and powerful frame requires a few things. Firstly, you have to be willing to lift heavy weight, that just comes with the territory. Second, you have be patient and diligent. You’re not going to get those gains you so deeply desire overnight. And of course, you have be willing to eat like a monster.
The last part is definitely underrated. In order to pack on a lot of muscle you have to be willing to consume a great deal of calories. There’s a reason there’s a bulking phase in bodybuilding. If you want to build more muscle and strength you have to have a big appetite.
Getting massive in any strength sport requires a calorie surplus. Nowhere is that more evident than in strongman. You have to be able to lift incredible amounts of weight throughout these competitions. Four-time World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw knows all too well what it takes to pack on considerable size and strength.
In a recent YouTube video, Brian Shaw revealed that he used to eat a massive 15,000 calories a day in his earlier competitive years. It just goes to show the amount of food needed to become a world champion strongman.
Now, Brian Shaw is revisiting the kind of meals he used to consume in his early competitive days. Below is a list of what Brian Shaw ate in his latest video.
Meal One (Breakfast)

- Syrup
- Butter

Meal Two (Snack)
- Noodles
- Bison (or whatever meat he can afford)
- Red sauce
- Milk
- Total: 1770 calories
Meal Three (Lunch)
- Chicken Burrito (extra chicken)
- Barbacoa Tacos
- Large Coke
- Total: 2568 calories
Meal Four (Post-Workout Snack)
- Bacon Cheeseburger
- Large Fries
- Chocolate Milk
- Total: 1940 calories
Meal Five (Dinner)
- Large Buffalo Chicken Pizza
- Cheesecake
- Total: 4270 calories
Total: 14,292 Calories
