Doug Martin’s world record was acknowledged by Guinness this week.
Doug ‘Censor’ Martin is known for his work on social media. The popular steamer and video game champion has made a name for himself digitally but has also ventured into the world of fitness.
On Thursday, Martin shared via X that he has set a new world record for most pull-ups completed in a 24-hour period. On Sept. 7, Martin took on the challenge and finished with 9,250 pull-ups. He sent in the video to the Guinness Book of World Records and the publication confirmed the record on Nov. 7.
Martin streamed the video live on his Twitch channel. He also had many certified personal trainers present, counting each rep.

Martin set the record at 1 More Rep gym in Long Island. It was previously held by Japan’s Kenta Adachi. He completed 8,940 pull-ups earlier this year. Martin set his sights on the record and got to work with different trainers and coaches. This includes Jaxon Italiano, who also held the record at one time with 8,008 pull-ups.
It did not take Martin all 24 hours to accomplish this record. He cruised to the number needed with five hours remaining and continued to work hard.
The overall work by Doug Martin helped raise $8,500 in donations from his streak for Purple Project, an organization that helps those with pancreatic cancer. Martin is a former professional gamer who became popular over his career that spanned a decade playing Call of Duty.
