There are some greats who have never won the most prestigious bodybuilding event ever to be created, the Olympia. The show is a proving ground for the greatest bodybuilders in the world. Literally the best of the best face off until a champion is crowned Mr. Olympia, the title giving them bragging rights as the greatest bodybuilder in the world. But as said before, some of the greatest bodybuilders to ever compete have come just shy of taking the top spot at the show. Kevin Levrone, Flex Wheeler, Lou Ferrigno, Lee Labrada, Rich Gaspari, Shawn Ray, the list goes on and on. Each one of them are true legends, some of the best to ever compete. Yet they’ve all fallen short of absolute greatness. Unfortunately for Shawn Rhoden, he’s also stuck in that camp.

Since last year’s Olympia, Shawn Rhoden has been flying under the radar, likely looking to make improvements to his physique. After unexpectedly coming in third place at the 2015 Olympia, it seems that all Rhoden wants to do is improve upon any bit that was lacking in his last performance. The funny thing is that he was exceptional at last year’s show and is always on point when he hits the stage.

There has always been talk of what Shawn Rhoden needs to do to become Olympia champ. This extended off season could be exactly what Rhoden needed to take his physique to the next level and redeem himself against Dexter Jackson and Phil Heath. The inclusion of Kevin Levrone also brings it’s share of problems to be conquered, but if anyone is capable of handling the challenge it’s Shawn Rhoden. Just take a look at the training video below to see how much work Rhoden is putting in with respected trainer Charles Glass.

Where do you think Shawn Rhoden will place at the 2016 Olympia?
