We Have To Talk About How Incredibly Jacked Chris Cuomo Is In Quarantine

Chris Cuomo is making the most of his downtime after being diagnosed with the novel coronavirus and put in 14-day isolation.

Chris Cuomo, CNN journalist and hilarious younger brother of NYC mayor Andrew Cuomo, has been sharing updates with fans on his workout routine from inside quarantine. Cuomo recently made headlines when he was diagnosed with the coronavirus and was forced to stay home for two weeks instead of reporting on the news.

However, Cuomo hasn’t let the CDC’s social distancing guidelines get him down. A 2018 New York Times profile of Cuomo describes him as a noted “fitness buff, though he does not believe in bodybuilding.”

Cuomo also has an interest in CrossFit and HIIT. “With CrossFit, I got into it years ago. I believe in functional strength. I am fascinated with middle age and performance. I do no bodybuilding. I don’t believe in it. I only care about what my body can do. How it looks is of little value,” he said.

Despite the bold claim, Cuomo’s shredded physique definitely has more in common with the average bodybuilder than it does any every day guy.

He occasionally shares fitness updates with his fans over Instagram, though those updates have been coming on a lot faster now that he’s in quarantine. Check out these videos of Chris Cuomo’s quarantine workouts, which he also livestreams on Instagram for those wanting to work out alongside him.

“I like this new concept of trying to do — of starting to do whatever it is you can do, you know, 10 push-ups, 10 air squats, and 10 sit-ups — and then add 5 the next time you do it, and then add another 5. So you’re doing it three times a day,” he explains in the above video. Cuomo likes the recent quarantine fitness trend of escalating workouts in such a dramatic fashion to keep up muscular fitness and not lose definition while stuck at home without access to a gym.

Strength Wars Movie

Like many of the millions of Americans under stay-at-home orders across the nation, Chris Cuomo is keeping his spirits up by maintaining his fitness regime. Many experts suggest that doing your best to continue with your everyday routine while quarantined can help improve mood and fight off the depression and anxiety that come from being confined to the home.

Chris Cuomo offers a lot of helpful tips to people looking to work out from home. The second video offers a simpler alternative to his more complicated workout for people who might not have the same level of equipment in their home gym. You don’t need a fancy set-up to work out from home — Cuomo demonstrates that with very minimal equipment, or even just the furniture in your home, you can find ways to keep yourself in good shape and not lose any of the gains you’ve made over the past year. With the right amounts of focus and self-discipline, anything is possible.
