Chubby Choco Nutz Review: Cereal pieces make up for its light flavor
Chubby Choco Nutz is ‘Merica Labz chocolate peanut butter flavor for its incredibly delicious protein powder, Patriot’s Whey. We got the chance to review two of the product’s original options last year and immediately fell in love, so when news of Chubby Choco Nutz got out, we knew we had to try it.
As mentioned, Chubby Choco Nutz is the chocolate peanut butter flavor for Patriot’s Whey and is also made with real chocolate peanut butter cereal pieces. The added pieces are very similar to what you get in the supplement’s other flavors especially our favorite Yosemite S’mores, which is packed full of sweet marshmallows and chocolatey chocolate chips.
Review
The taste of Chubby Choco Nutz isn’t as impressive as the first two Patriot’s Whey we tried, Double Stuffed and Yosemite S’mores. Its base flavor isn’t all that strong with a mostly light chocolate taste that doesn’t really have any kind of peanut butter to it. Fortunately, the product is saved by its many crunchy chocolate peanut butter cereal pieces.
The added cereal pieces bring two things to the protein, firstly they add a fun crunchy consistency to your shake, and secondly, they thicken up the flavor when eaten in combination with the liquid. The result is a rather surprising experience along the same lines as eating a bowl of Reese’s Puffs.
We do also suggest drinking your Chubby Choco Nutz shake as soon as you’ve made it, as if you leave it sitting for too long the cereal pieces will get soggy. While that doesn’t ruin the shake, it takes away the fun of the crunch when you’re drinking your shake, and the pieces do float, so it’s difficult to avoid them.
Summary
Chubby Choco Nutz is actually a truly unique take on a chocolate peanut butter protein shake. As mentioned the base flavor isn’t all that strong; however, it all gets balanced out with the added cereal pieces. Overall it’s a different kind of protein experience as well as an incredibly enjoyable one that further strength’s the Patriot’s Whey reputation.
