Karma’s a B*tch

Everyone’s favorite non-fighter CM Punk continues to make headlines in the MMA world, but as usual, not for anything inside the octagon. The smug and often times sassy former WWE champ revealed to MMAfighting.com that he will be undergoing back surgery in Chicago due to a herniated disc – further postponing his UFC debut, again. CM Punk credits his injury to years of taking bumps on the wrestling Matt

“My back has always bugged me,” Punk told MMAFighting.com. “Figured it was just wrestling sh*t. Turns out it was.”

“It got bad enough to the point where I couldn’t do anything the week before I went to train with the New Jersey Devils last month. One day I could manage, the next day I couldn’t. I’ve been in agony for almost a month. Chiropractor, acupuncture, massage, cryotherapy … nothing worked.”

CM Punk recently took some heat when he underwent shoulder surgery last summer which postponed his original debut. He will take further scrutiny from the public as some might say the 37 yr old is past his prime and his body just can’t handle such a physical sport. His latest injury will cost him 4-6 weeks on the sideline, which makes it very possible for him to fight in 2016, but leaves some doubts in the minds of the already questionable public. This is especially highlighted as CM Punk’s opponent Mickey Gall just won his second fight within a minute of the first round. What do I think? Never a fan of punk – I think he should get healthy, fight his 3 fights, and get a job as a UFC  commentator already. We all know that’s the plan. I mean seriously, does anyone see CM Punk ever fighting for a title? And if not, then Why is he there? Purely a publicity stunt, I wish he would just get his mid-life crisis over with and buy a motorcycle already. Is this the MMA gods evening the score?
