Cody Montgomery Leaving Classic, Headed Back to Men’s Open Bodybuilding

Cody Montgomery is switching back to Men’s Open.

An individual’s career can certainly be a winding road, one which we can never be too sure will pan out the way that it’s envisioned. Depending on a person’s ambitions and path, an individuals career can either be smooth sailing or a sea of turbulence. Sometimes in order to achieve greatness, one has to take a risk and shake things up to really make a difference in their career.

Things seemed to have shaken up for IFBB Pro Cody Montgomery. One of the youngest to ever receive a pro card, Cody Montgomery appeared to be destined for great things in the world of professional bodybuilding. In fact, right out of the gate Cody Montgomery sought to challenge himself against the best bodybuilders in the world as he made the Arnold Classic his first pro competition.

The results of his first pro show weren’t exactly what Montgomery hoped for, considering that he was out sized by nearly every other competitor on stage. This may have been what prompted a move to the Classic Physique division to shake things up a bit. But in an exclusive interview with Generation Iron, it appears that Cody Montgomery has had a change of heart and is looking to return to his original category, Men’s Open Bodybuilding.
