Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov Attend World Cup Finals. Is it a Hint at Upcoming Fight?

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor were in Russia for the World Cup final.

With the Russian hosted World Cup dominating the airwaves for weeks now, the final match came down to France and Croatia, both countries battling through the odds in attempt to secure ultimate victory. Soccer may have been the main focus of the event, but some well known individuals in the crowd garnered a fair amount of attention of their own. Current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former champ Conor McGregor were both on hand for the World Cup final.

Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor have some unfinished business that started back at UFC 223, where the brash Irishman made headlines after attacking a fighter bus with a trolley. Since then McGregor has been stripped of his lightweight belt, Nurmagomedov has become champion, and the speculation is on the rise as to whether the two rivals will ever meet inside the octagon.

Commonsense would say “HELL YES!” especially when you consider the amount of animosity that has built up between the two fighters. Animosity equals dollar signs at the end of the day, so it’s a safe bet that Nurmagomedov and McGregor will lock horns at some point. As of now, the two fighters showing up at the World Cup finals could easily be inferred as a bit of pre-promotion.

For now, MMA fans will have to wait for an official announcement, but if history has told us anything, coincidences like this are usually just a sign of things to come.
