Conor McGregor Looks Sharp Hitting Pads One Week Out From UFC 246

There’s no doubt about it, Conor McGregor has changed the MMA game forever.

Say what you will about the brash Irishman and his penchant for trash talk, when Conor McGregor stepped onto the scene he opened the floodgates for new possibilities for fighters in the game today.

From living off social welfare in Ireland to being the highest paid mixed martial artist of all time, Conor McGregor has left his stamp on the sport and has entirely changed the game.

He was also the first man to hold two titles in two divisions in the UFC making him a truly historic figure in MMA.

But let’s not pretend like everything has been all roses.

McGregor has found himself in the hot seat a number of times throughout his career and under much scrutiny as allegations and legitimate assaults have been hurled his way. At the most these allegations could end up tarnishing his legacy, if they haven’t already, and potentially see him going to trial and sending him to jail. At the very least it will leave many fans raising an eyebrow and wondering on the validity of the accusations.

Nevertheless, Conor McGregor seems to be focus on the task ahead of him and that’s a battle with one of the most popular and recognizable faces in MMA today, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.

McGregor and Cerrone are set to do battle in Las Vegas on the first UFC card of the year at UFC 246. Many believe that the former two-division world champion will be able to pick up an easy victory over Cerrone come January 18, but one can’t be too certain. Cerrone is a veteran of the game who has battled a whose who of MMA and UFC superstars.

That said, Conor McGregor has posted some training footage on his Instagram account showing the former champ hard at work in the gym.
