Daniel Cormier Responds To Jon Jones Lie Detector Test: “Ted Bundy Passed The Polygraph”

Daniel Cormier takes shots at Jon Jones.

Arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time, Jon “Bones” Jones, is facing sanctioning for a failed drug test following his UFC 214 victory over now light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Jones recently took a polygraph test which corroborated that he did not knowingly take steroids.

The test may not be admissible in his upcoming hearing and was not done in connection with the UFC, it’s testing organization, or the California State Athletic Commission.

Cormier will fight Volkan Oezdemir in his first title defense since the loss to jones in the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC 220 in Boston. When asked about the polygraph he clearly had anticipated the question and had prepared a hilarious reply:

”Jon Jones took a polygraph test to prove his innocence. And I’m going to say this: Ted Bundy passed a polygraph test … and then killed the f*cking guy that was giving it to him!”

Ted Bundy was a serial killer who murdered at least 30 people over many years in the United States, and in 1989, he was executed. He did pass a polygraph at one point but doesn’t seem to have killed the test administrator. Of course sociopaths are well equipped to passing polygraphs, because all a polygraph does is measure certain physiological responses to lying.

Cormier went on to say that throughout many years of his feud with Jones he tried hard to validate himself as champion in the eyes of the fans. No more. DC says he is done justifying his status:

“I am so secure and happy in what I’ve done in my career that I don’t need anything else,” Cormier said. “Someone asked me on the way over here, ‘is this fight a justification, how do I justify my title reign?’ I said I don’t have to, I know what I’ve done, when all is said and done, when I’m long gone, I’ll always have been the UFC champion, and now I’ve been UFC champion for three years. I’m done with justifying. I’m done with that.”

Cormier’s bout with Oezdemir will be a fantastic matchup of experienced wrestling against youthful striking, and if Cormier loses, will likely be his retirement fight.
