Styles make fights
In a recent interview on the Joe Rogan Experience- podcast show #730- flyweight champion Demetrius Johnson spilled the beans on his thoughts on the future of the women’s strawweight division and a revelation that came to him after watching the recent UFC 193 card where Joanna Jedrzejczyk defended her title against Valerie Letoumeau. “You look at Joanna Jedrzejczyk, amazing striker – she’s developed a way to not get taken down,” Johnson said on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “What I saw from her last fight, and granted she broke her hand, but what I saw from that fight, was I know the person who can beat her now. I think the person who will be able to beat her – dethrone her – will be Paige VanZant.” “Mighty Mouse later expounded on his predictions by comparing the would be bout with the recent Anthony Pettis, Dos Anjos fight – explaining that a skilled fighter like Jedrzejzyk needed time to set up and set traps – if Paige could implement the strategy of Dos Anjos by stay in her face and get off first in exchanges he could see her having similar results. He also commented that Paige’s jack rabbit like pace would take the current champ into deep waters making it for an interesting bout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7I3r5606F3A To find out more about the DJ’s predictions, how he got started in the sport, and a whole bunch of other wacky sh*t, chek out the whole Podcast below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGp9bQzl1Wk
