Fantasy Football Loser Forced to Compete in Real Bodybuilding Show as Brutal Last-Place Punishment

Fantasy Football Loser Forced to Compete in Real Bodybuilding Show

Millions of football fans are drafting their fantasy teams ahead of the 2026 NFL season, but one viral video might have managers thinking twice before agreeing to a last-place punishment.

Ty Harrelson, 26, was forced to compete in an actual bodybuilding competition after finishing at the bottom of his fantasy football league last season. Rather than spending 24 hours inside a Waffle House or taking part in another traditional fantasy punishment, Harrelson’s friends sent him onto a bodybuilding stage, alongside athletes who had spent months preparing for the contest.

The result was exactly as uncomfortable, and hilarious, as they probably hoped.

A video shared by the social media account Tommy Rodberg shows Harrelson walking onto the stage wearing red posing trunks at the NPC Southern States Championships in Boca Raton, Florida. The clip quickly went viral and has since been reposted by major social media accounts, including Barstool Sports.

Fantasy Football Loser Takes the Bodybuilding Stage

According to Yahoo Sports, Harrelson competed in the men’s heavyweight division at the Southern States Championships. Unlike the seasoned competitors surrounding him, however, Harrelson arrived with essentially none of the usual bodybuilding preparation.

Contest organizer Maria Bellando told Yahoo that Harrelson actually called before the competition to ask whether shaving his entire body was mandatory. When he arrived at registration, his comparatively light spray tan, unshaven arms and legs, and lack of posing trunks immediately made him stand out.

He even had to purchase trunks at the competition.

Things became even more obvious once Harrelson reached the stage.

While experienced bodybuilders moved through the mandatory poses, Harrelson could reportedly be seen looking toward his competitors before attempting to imitate whatever pose they were performing. Meanwhile, six of his fantasy football league mates sat in the audience watching their punishment unfold.

Bellando didn’t learn why Harrelson had entered until videos from the contest began circulating online.

“I thought I was going to get in trouble,” Harrelson later explained about why he hadn’t told organizers beforehand.

Instead, Bellando apparently found the stunt amusing and appreciated the attention it brought to the competition.

Fantasy Football Punishments Keep Getting Wilder

Last-place punishments have become almost as much a part of fantasy football culture as draft day itself. Popular examples have included forcing losers to spend 24 hours at a Waffle House, take standardized tests, perform stand-up comedy, or endure other forms of public embarrassment.

Actually entering a sanctioned bodybuilding contest, however, takes things to another level.

Harrelson’s performance has since exploded across social media, with Yahoo reporting that one version of the video accumulated nearly 650,000 TikTok likes and even appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America. His employer also reportedly commemorated the occasion by putting a life-sized cutout of Harrelson flexing in his red posing trunks inside his office.

With fantasy football draft season now in full swing, Harrelson’s experience also offers managers a pretty compelling reason to make sure they don’t finish last.

Because apparently, losing your league can now mean having to hit a front double bicep, in the required banana hammock, under the bright lights.
